Mark you call yourself a Linux guy and you defend Windows? How dare you! :D Just kidding...

A lot of Windows freezes could be related to spyware as well. Don't get me started when I used to work for MS call center and dealt with people when the Sasser virus broke. Lets just say a lot of people shouldn't be using a computer.

There are some things you still have to use the terminal with, like when an application you want isn't in the repos and they don't have a deb or rpm for it so you have to install it from source which is annoying, but frankly that doesn't happen all too often and in distros like ubuntu you never have to use the terminal really...

You are doing something wrong if you feel you need to use the terminal all the time.

I file that under the "user issues" category I mentioned earlier. Inadequate protection/configuration, or plain stupidity in allowing a random web popup to "clean" your computer. ;)

BTW, what is that "Dead Like Me" thing in your signature about? I liked that show when it was on.

It's clickable. It takes you to the IMDB site for the DVD movie release coming up. My wife and I both loved that show.

Oh sweet, I have signatures turned off -- but me and the wife were also big fans of that show.. Will have to let her know there is a movie coming out..

Should be good ;)
