friendship at its best

Recommended Posts

Two days ago i had a phone call off my mate asking me if i wanted a PC he had kicking round, the specs where as follows

Intel Core Duo 2.3Ghz

4GB crosshair x4 1GB sticks

x3 250gb western digital hdd's

X-FI filadity extremegamer

Zalaman heatsink

Thermaltake Kandalf Case

1000watt BFG PSU

7.1 surround sound system

I asked him how much he wanted for it, and my mate said nothing, he just wanted to get rid of it, the mobo was DOA and he didnt ever get round to replacing it, and since he wasnt going to fix it he asked me if i wanted it for free. now i didnt have to think twice on this so i said yes.... and it turned up this morning.

Now since i couldnt afford to replace the mobo either i stripped the parts and added everything minus the processor and 1 hdd isnt to system, now of course i swapped everything into the new case, ive been working on this all day and 5 hours later all is complete

It still surprises me how generious people can be and esp with this build

due to this ive got 2 processors for sale (see Neobay for details)

When i was like 14 I had a net friend (lived in the same city), he was like 35 and kept tryin to give me stuff like that. I only met him once when he brought me something on my BDAY.

anyways now that i think back to it (im 24 now)... that was really creepy.

Noooo, how could you possibly think that :|

how old are you? and how old is your friend?

We are both 27, and both computer nuts, we kinda met when playing Frontlines on the PC and then we started up Binary Squadron.co.uk as the rest as they say is history lol

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
    • As a game dev, today was really depressing. They announced that Blueprints will be deprecated in UE6 to be fully replaced by their sh**ty Python-like Verse language... They also announced that 5.8 will be the last version of UE5 until UE6 comes out in MID 2029!!!! They have completely lost the plot.
