of course i only joined a year later, this is my second anniversary with the 360, but still...every day seems like a lifetime and so much has come to pass...

just thought i'd remind you of the occasion.

Yeah 2nd year also for me. Amazed at how many good games are coming out. 12 months ago I didn't think they had anything to match last XMas season but this ones turned out better IMHO. I guess I was expecting Fable 2 and the like to arrive earlier and not factor in so much to the XMas sales.

Just over a year for me (October 2007) and I've been loving every moment of it.

Interesting side note, though: Some people have been reporting that Microsoft (Being the ultimate evil in the Universe) deliberately released the NXE (Which they knew would cause a few RROD's) a few days after the 360's 3 year anniversary, so if it bricked any launch consoles, MS wouldn't have to repair it as the extended warranty will have just expired. As this thread rightfully points out, the 360 was released on the 22 of November, 2005 so Microsoft deliberately released it a few days before this important date, so that if you were unfortunate enough to have a bricked console, you're still entitled to a free repair from the big M. I'd just like to take the time to say "Kudos!" to Microsoft for picking that date, instead of November 25 or something.

Happy Birthday, releasing NXE for the Anniversary was a good idea (Y)

My one year Anniversary was earlier this month I think.

Also so nice to see a Birthday topic that isn't crapped on within a few posts

$600?

Did you buy games with it?

Guess that's what grabbing a console at launch does to you LOL.

I always wait a little longer than launch, it can be hard at times though if you have the cash available :( Nothing better than getting the "new gadget feeling"!

nice comments from all. three years ago i wasn't even thinking about getting an Xbox console, i was rather waiting for another dame! from a gaming perspective, the last two years have been bliss.

jianbing, you're just living in denial again...put down the guitar and trade it for a controller.

as for kushan, it can be argued MS should have put the NXE out much earlier, say at least a couple weeks before, but i agree, they probably did their best to help with any unforseeables. plus, i thought you had your 360 much longer.

ricardo, i think we have two more years with her, after that the lady "720" will come about, i'm pretty sure.

but let's celebrate, i've been gaming like a madman lately, which goes with boozing quite well, although after three-four cans i get kinda cranky on Live and that doesn't help with COD5. aiming goes to hell when you're all absinthe minded.

    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
