Mac Pro update soon or not anyone know

Recommended Posts

hi all

i am looking at buying a MacPro in the next few months but have seen some other people say wait until the new macworld 09 or something like that but i want to be sure i dont want to put off my plans and wait months for nothing but i also dont want to buy something now and get it but something new comes out 1 month after i open and use it. my question is does anyone know if anything is planned or rumored CARA might know but dont know if she will see this

any info would be great

adam

but isnt that much lower than the xeon's in the macpro anyway but i might be wrong tho i havent kept up with processor updates recently

I have no idea what the Mc Pro will be running next. I don't really keep up with Mac Pro developments anyway. But it's due for a refresh, and Intel just raised the bar. So I imagine very soon we'll be seeing some Mac Pro news very soon.

What do you do with your Mac Pro? I own the 2008 model. I do hard video rendering and graphics rendering, web design, graphics design, program, code, etc... well just about anything anyone could do with a computer....

I have 4TB of storage and 24gb of RAM.

If you aren't doing a lot I don't see the point on waiting unless you really need the power and HAVE TO HAVE THE NEWEST STUFF! IMHO.

damn 24 gb of ram!

yes...soon to be 32gb...gonna max it out. I run OS X to do most of my work, but as far as programming goes I prefer to do it in Linux, so I run about 4 virtual machines at all times. I've learned quick when you have a machine with almost no boundaries (except gaming, my gaming video cards aren't the best, but i'm not a gamer) that there can never be enough of anything.

As echo says, the supposedly outgoing / current Mac Pro will still absolutely blow your socks off performance wise and would be more than good enough.. but there is a good chance that Nehalem based Xeon's will make their way into the Mac Pro early next year and performance of those is said to be absolutely insane. So it just depends how patient you are really...

And Apple do move in mysterious ways - they may drag their heels getting a Mac Pro replacement out as they know the current one is still very, very quick.

Stay connected affordably in 120+ countries/regions with your own lifetime eSIM! An eSIM is a digital SIM card. It's basically just mobile data. Once it's activated on your device, it can connect you to data networks in other countries – giving you an internet connection with NO roaming charges. With aloSIM, you can load prepaid eSIM data packages onto your phone, tablet, or computer. Your lifetime eSIM never expires, so it's yours forever and there are never any monthly charges. Good to know Length of access: lifetime For NEW customers only Instant digital redemption Once you add your $50 credit to your aloSim account you have up to 12-months to use it — after that your credit will expire When you pay for a data plan you also get a free phone number (via Hushed) for the same duration of your plan that was purchased - IE 7 day eSim plan gives you a free 7-day phone number Purchased coupon must be redeemed and used within 12 months This deal is not stackable (one offer per aloSIM account) A $4.50 data package will last 7 days The data DOES expire, and you WILL NOT have any leftover data for your next trip unless it takes place within the validity period. • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
