MacPadd THE MousePad for a Mac user!

Recommended Posts

I've never seen people get so excited over a mousepad

People around here tend to experience a lot of classism when Apple releases a new product that happens to complement the design of other Apple products (logical), or when a partner company does the same. It can be an ugly weakness.

Aluminum mouse pad = FAIL

Mouse pads should be soft for both wrists and mouse. A $1 pad would probably be better than this.

It's stylish, yeah, but doesn't seem that good for what it is.

Correct me if I'm wrong but have you used this pad and if so what is wrong with it? It is the same thickness as a standard mouse pad. It is like being a Windows user and nocking a OS X but never used it so wait to bash it after my revue when I receive it :)

Calm down, we're talking mouse pads here, jeez  . Leave the stupid OS wars out of it, OK?

I'll quote my self:

See the bold part? It's an opinion.

Based on what you ask? Aluminum is stiff, mouse pads aren't. It raises some concern to me about how your wrist is going to handle a day on that stiff surface. Also, is the mouse going to slide properly on that surface, will it last long?

I've never used an aluminum mouse pad before, hence my concern about its performance.

I would not be using it for hours at a time do to having a life  and some like it mainly for the look as well to compliment there system. But for long use probably not.

I would tend to say that there a coating on the Alu. I doubt you are right on the Alu.

Anyway, it's a mousepad designed for the Mac User, I HIGHLY doubt it wouldn't be built to scratch happily the scratch-happy Mighty Mouse...

Anti-Bacterial is not Anti-scratch

This pad sucks, I tried it. It's so fricken thick that I have to bend my wrists to use it. Also who the heck need a mouse pad when we're in the era of laser and optical mice? I only needed a mouse pad back in the 90's to provide enough traction on the mouse ball.

I can't believe some of you actual fell for the apple marketing gimmick and bought this mouse pad. The dumbest part of this is that the thing is made of ALUMINUM and it will scratch like crazy; there doesn't seem to be anti scratch coating. I bet you don't have anti-bacteria coating on your keyboard then what's the point of having anti-bacterial coating that will easily scratch off on your mouse?

Now Sillysam that you realized that you just wasted money, keep your anger to yourself, don't go using use neowinians as scapegoats for your poor spending.

It's okay, but if you ask me I wouldn't but this one cause sometime I switch my had and I hate wanking with cold hands.

I do. My laser mouse doesn't work on my white desk. It won't move at all.

Not sure if you know this or not, but it's not an Apple product. It's made by a completely different company.

The MacPadd was in the news for the first time around Nov.24th. And you've tried it already?

You must gave gotten it REALLY quickly.

I would not be using it for hours at a time do to having a life  and some like it mainly for the look as well to compliment there system. But for long use probably not.

Some of us work with computers all day long. It's our life :p

People still use mousepads? My desk is my mousepad. I havnt used a mouse pad since optical mice became available.

I still use a mouse pad because I don't like having the bottom of my mice destroyed by a wooden desk.

I'm somewhat irritated by the fact that they spell 'pad' with 2 d's consistently throughout their website. >.>

I have an Allsop Redmond mousepad. It looks quite nice, and it's pretty large. And it's not just a slice of aluminium. My mousepad actually has tracker points so it helps in accuracy. This thing is just a piece of metal. I could take the side off one those cheap Alu tower cases and use that as an enourmouse (looool geddit? I'm doing those silly word things too now) pad.

i haven't used a mouse pad since i got an optical/laser mouse like 5 years ago...

I agree. Back in the days I actually hated using a mouse pad because of the "small" surface available. Now with my laser mouse I don't need those awful things anymore and still have precision.

Friction is still an issue. Especially now with cordless laser mice that require batteries. They're quite a bit heavier than their corded counterparts.

In fact, that's one of the reasons I switched to a G9 gaming mouse. Corded, but far lighter. Less friction, less effort to push around. I can really tell the difference. IMHO people with these heavier cordless mice would benefit from a good mousepad.

^^ I do, my desk is made out of glass a laser mouse will be useless without a mouse pad.

Yea, I can see that as a problem. but even then, I would probably tape some black paper to the underside of the desk and see how that works before going the mouse pad route.

    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
