What are your thoughts on the BMW 135i Coupe?

I love BMW but I prefer 4 door vehicles, not everyone is the same I know.

The only thing is when you get a few friends with you it 's much better with a 4 door, but that thing looks real sporty.

I think they are pretty small, but again some people like that.

I like the idea of it, Personally I like AWD, and bigger cars, but all that power to the rear wheels of something so small and light has got to equal fun (in the dry at least), plus its nice looking.

I think personally I woudl liek to have a go in one, maybe even borrow one for a week, but not own one.

BMW's style has gone down the drain.

I much preferred the 2000 era style. Seriously, the trunk on the 7series..., the strange hood on the M6...

I've moved onto admiring Audi.

As far as the 1 series, it follows the same ugly style, and it is aimed at a budget entry level market, I'd avoid it.

i completely agree, but i dont like audi's :)

lexus is coming along, and so is infiniti (to the UK at least)

buy a used car if you really want a bmw, you can get something way better than that!!

its simply ulgy

obviously everyone has different tastes, but to those of you who have put it down or dont like the looks, have you actually seen one of these 1 series coupes in person?

Yes, at an auto show, it was quite shiny. Pictures make it look better. The uglyness cannot compare to the Pontiac Aztec though...

The bottom line w/ the 135 is that it has a better HP/weight ratio than the e46 M3. That's friggen sweet. I've been in a 335, and that thing moves damn fast.

(anybody have any sources to back that up? I keep hearing it everywhere, so I just reiterated it here.)

I really like the 1 series coupe. You have to see it in real life to appreciate it IMO.

You'd actually be surprised at how little smaller it is interior-wise compared to the 3 coupe. In fact, the 1 has slightly more room in the back than the 3 when the front seat is adjusted for me (possibly as you sit slightly more upright in the 1).

Driving-wise, the 135i is the pick of the whole BMW range for me at present. It's more than a match for the M3 in most conditions, and is more closely aligned with the ethos of the older M models IMO. No-one that has dyno'd a 335i or 135i has got less than 330bhp (interesting, as that's the figure listed for the 740 with the same engine, compared to 305bhp for the 135i), compare this with almost no-one getting more than 325bhp from the old S54 engine from the Z4M and E46 M3 (officially listed at 345bhp) and the 400NM of torque (possibly 450NM) which matches the current M3 - but is produced from 1300 almost the whole way to the red line.

Road tests put the 0-60 at 4.9 seconds - almost indentical to the M3's 4.7, and in-gear times are within a few 10th's as well.

I'm waiting to see what happens with the new Z4 in the coming 2 weeks, and if I don't like that, will be plumping for a 135i. M3 performance for 2/3's of the price - it's the bargain of the BMW range.

I had a 325 in high school - it was a piece of junk

My mother had an 850ci that was a bigger piece of junk - the gear shift literally came off in my hand one day when I was driving it

I think 3-series are made for high school kids and recent college grads, just like the bottom series (C230 ?) Mercedes - and the Porsche Boxster - they dont deserve to wear that logo

So I guess you can see what I think of the 1-series.

The M-3 being the exception to the rule - those things are nice - the 5 series are awesome - and the 7 series wish they were as nice as a Lexus.

:)

You must treat your cars like crap. I've got an E28 M5 that still looks like it came out of the factory yesterday. Still got all it's original paint and panels, interior is like new and the car did over 10000 miles a year for a good few years of it's life.

You do realise that without the 3 series, C-Class and Boxster there would be no BMW, Mercedes or Porsche? To say they don't deserve to wear the marque's badge is simply idiotic.

So you like the M3 (which in recent models is built on the same production line as all other 3 series models, thus you're contradicting your own arguments) yet you don't like a smaller, better handling car that is just as quick (if not quicker in some areas), that costs less, is more exclusive and is more in the ethos of BMW's small high performance models like the 2002Tii and E30 M3...

7 series wishes it was as nice as a Lexus? OMFG that's hilarious. The 7 series is a much better driving car than a Lexus. Even though it's a big car it's still quite a sporty drive. Lexus has no driving appeal at all.

Stop making me agree with you. :p I really like the last part of your post. The BMW 7-series is so much nicer than the Lexus, especially the new model. Damn!

    • This is weird. Mythos is more unrestricted compared to Fable. Technically it poses more risk!!
    • This is a great thing, I always have issues with Verizon while inside of certain football stadiums due to the saturation and walls blocking signal so a LOS way to connect would be great. Verizon was supposed to be offering sat data this year but I've not heard a word of it lately. Dude is sending rockets into space in a cheap manner, low waste foot print and has a great product with solar/battery tech. We would be so far behind China right now if not for him and a push to get back into space.
    • illegally? Proof of that? Seems you are posting misinformation or well a pure straight up lie cause there is zero proof of such a thing. But I get it...
