RahXephon was great! :D I have yet to see Gunparade March btw. It's on my to watch list for such a long time now haha. Both RahXephon and Eureka Seven didn't have as much emphasis on the emotional side of the anime compared to Gundam SEED, I agree with you on that. I guess I just have a weakness for such animes.

Have you seen Last Exile?

Last Exile was fantastic. It had a refreshing style of animation and a good story. The characters weren't developed enough but it was all good.

Maybe I'm too picky... Maybe I'm losing faith in all the new anime that come out. I want a great story line that gives me a feeling that I can keep. TTGL's protagonist seemed very immature compared to Renton from Eureka Seven.

There's only so much "I'm going to bring down this humongous, unbeatable bad guy" and "Row Row, fight the powah!" I can take. The second half of TTGL was almost a textbook classic copy pasta of Infinite Ryvius (must watch). There was almost no storyline to speak of either. It was just the "go get the unbeatable enemy and kick him to the next dimension" story line and shallow characters that ruined the anime.

Nah, I'll agree with what you said earlier. You have your standards, which is good. Anime is big enough to accommodate all sorts of tastes, and it also can't sit on one moe blob show after another. So the more people who at least watch the stuff with a clear idea of what they want out of it should help push the genre ahead. :) .

Honestly, I felt the "Row row..." bit became pretty stale too. I guess what made the progression of enemies in TTGL work for me is that they clearly progressed from the small to universal scale, then just ended it, with a hero that grew to learn that after all he's done, he's still just another guy in the grand scheme of things. If it wasn't for Simon's line, "I guess I'm nobody after all.", I probably wouldn't have liked the show as much as I do.

I'll take your suggestion of "Infinite Ryvius" and check it out. :) .

You dropped Aria WTF is wrong with you?

Some Shows I recently watched,

Monster

I would give the series nine out of ten. If you are in the mood for a series anime, this is a good choice for you. The series feels as if it was based on a novel ( by a goddamn genius ) and not a manga. The story is serious and will keep you watching while the main characters are realistic. I can't give this anime a perfect score because the introduction will get boring after repeating 72 times and the animation lacks digital enchantments.

Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11

I would give this movie a perfect score. I don't know what to say. This is a Neon Genesis Evangelion brought anew with modern animation technology. Nothing feels missing actually and overall it feels complete and elegant. I think there are a lot of new scenes that I never recalled seeing in the original series. The 1080p animation, with modern lightning, and CGI effects. This is a must for any NGE fan.

Casshern Sins

I would give this series an 8/10. Do you feel too happy? Well this drama is right for you! The world is dying and it is all Casshern's fault. The story is good, but don't expect any comedy in this series. Although the characters are excellent and so is the story, it lacks in two areas - it seems too bleak and hopeless and the concept of the anime could yield more potential. This anime is about death.

Gantz

I would give this one 6/10. The ending is disappointing and doesn't explain anything, some sexually explicit scenery feels unnecessary, and the monsters look rather goddamn stupid. Otherwise, it manages to accurately display the immorality of human beings. If you like gore, violence, and nudity - this is a good pick.

Gantz, the manga version, is fantastic. It supposedly will end with a final arc next year. I can't wait to pick it up again after it's translated. On top of all that, Over Drive is now being translated. :) It was a fantastic anime series about cycling. It's probably the best sports anime I've watched with a fantastic OP.

Over Drive anime is win, Shonen Kamikaze did an awesome catchy OP song for it (Y) :D

Radish?

I hope they make a new season. The main character is amazing. I watched the anime then followed it up with Nodame Cantabile and I was impressed to say the least. Both have an invigorating feel to them.

Ichigo complete hollow form was so damn cool!!!! Simply loved this week's episode. One thing I noticed was Muramasa had to pull Zangetsu out while Ichigo was in front of him, how's he pull the others out without the Shinigamis knowing it? :hmmm:

Probably because he called out to them sometime before the storyline began. Apparently, Ichigo had to be in Soul Society for Muramasa to get Zangetsu, and I agree, the episode was great. I'm already looking forward to the next one:

Shirosaki/Hichigo/Hollow Ichigo and Muramasa looks like they will be fighting in Ichigo's inner world. This is very interesting

You should check out the live-action Nodame Cantabile if you haven't already, brilliant comedy and Ueno Juri

Death Note, Death Note: The Last Name, L: Change The World,

The first movie covered the same events as the anime. If you watched the anime, the first movie will not be as interesting as the second. I think the second movie went into a bit different direction (anime got boring before I reached that though). The third movie was more of filler made for the fans of L - it takes place before the end of 2nd Death Note Movie. Overall the Death Note Dualogy is worthy of watching even though it is obvious that they worked with a limited budget - the CGI doesn't reach Transformers Quality - but the movie is still good actually. I think that the actor who played Light could have done better, while L seemed perfect. The ending of the second movie is good actually with a good twist. The spin-off, is about L versus Terrorist with some biological weapon - it is by far not as good as the first two movies, but watchable. 7/10 , 8/10, 6/10

Gantz was amazing, but the anime did a very **** poor job of recreating the manga. Read the manga, it is one of the coolest ideas for anything ever.

I am not really into manga, unless it is erotica.

yey we can expected subbed version of Bleach movie 3 early next month :D or maybe late next week either way i am :)

could be that zangatsu is different from other Soul reaper(Zanpaktou)

Found this... what do you make of it?

Read about it yesterday elsewhere, I was in awe and I'm thinking an OVA of some sort? Not a series. Plus it's Studio 4?C, so hopefully some unique animation in-store for us.

Read Gantz then, you will like it. It has nudity and sexual stuff in between the alien killing lol.

IS THIS REAL?!

I really do hope they bring it back, but that they stick to the manga. The anime was amazing, but I'm sure the manga could put it to shame if it was animated correctly.

Also, are yall talking about the live action death note movie/s? is there more than 1? I was thinking about seeing one that was released here not too long ago, but heard it was not as good, and didn't want to ruin my experience with it. Are they worth watching?

It looked like Muramasa was able to tell that Ichigo has a VL inside him. I wonder if he is going to try and rip that part of of him as well......

    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
    • OpenAI is making Codex more useful in Chrome and the cloud by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI's Codex now has more than 5 million users, up nearly 4x from earlier this year. To further accelerate Codex's growth among developers, OpenAI today announced that it has agreed to acquire Ona, a company that builds secure cloud execution and orchestration technology for developers. Ona will enable developers to run Codex with persistent and controlled cloud infrastructure for long-running agentic workflows. Right now, most Codex execution happens locally on developers' laptops and PCs, and the agents work continuously for hours. Through Ona, OpenAI aims to make Codex agents keep working for days without being tied to a user’s local machine or an active session. This will be an important capability for enterprises that want to deploy AI agents in production while maintaining control over infrastructure, data, security boundaries, credential scope, logging, and review workflows. Like any acquisition, the deal is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the deal closes, OpenAI and Ona will continue to operate as separate companies. After closing, Ona’s team will join the Codex team to improve developer workflows. Alongside the Ona acquisition announcement, OpenAI today introduced a few Codex updates. Developers can now save Codex rate limit resets and use them later instead of losing them when they are not needed immediately. OpenAI is also adding a referral option where users can invite a friend to Codex and get a saved rate limit reset. OpenAI today also announced a developer mode for browser use in Chrome and the Codex in-app browser. With this mode, Codex can use the Chrome DevTools Protocol to debug web apps, inspect pages, and work more directly with browser-based development workflows. Developers can use this when they want Codex to profile JavaScript, inspect console output and network traffic, examine web page states including the DOM and applied styles, and more.
