Th-that-that's ridiculous! Tell me you live in Japan. There's no way that type of car will be seen as cool here in the US unless I'm missing out on something.

Yuri has now taken the title of otaku on Neowin, hands down. I like anime but not THAT much.

I'm curious about this now. How much do those cars cost (including the paint job)?

I found some more examples of otakus translating the art onto other types of transportation:

http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/25143/Anime+Cars.html

Even bicycles. :p

I live in the UK which isn't too bad on things like that also it'll be something i take to cons and the like my regular car will be a Lancia Stratos.

Haha, the UK does have a crazy ricer culture there so I guess it is acceptable on your side of the pond. Only around 500 of the Stratos were created, how are you manage to get that one?

Hmm, interesting. I was browsing Reddit and stumbled upon these two pics of a user's desktop and desk. Otaku culture = creepy.

Beat this, Yuri.

You haven't seen Melonpan's room have you?

/facepalm

Whatever makes them happy I guess. I can't see myself looking into anime as much as I am now when I finish up college. The ecchi school girls just seems ridiculous even now. Japan has a real weird perspective on young adults (females) posing in swimsuits and sell them as "ecchi" mags to adults.

Ah, Japan... You even had trouble putting child pornography into law because of the heavy role the Yakuza and others play in that industry.

Watched the second OVA of Denpa Teki na Kanojo. It was decent but it doesn't really beat the complexity of the first OVA. Totally new characters (though Hikaru was bloody annoying as before :/) and less gory action but it delivers with an atmosphere full of mystery, mind games and an unexpected twist at the end (divine retribution :D) (Y)

Character design was really done well and it was great to finally see Ame's face behind that long fringe, she kicked ass being her monotone self

Radish?

An interesting episode of Bleach, going back in time with Kouga and his Zanpaktou (Y) Is this possibly why Byakuya is trying to uphold his (or the Kuchiki family) pride being alongside Muramasa because of the way Kouga is linked to his family?

ghibli-unveils-karigurashi-no-arrietty-the-borrowers.jpg

Studio Ghibli has announced its next movie will be an anime adaptation of famous children?s story ?The Borrowers,? to be entitled Karigurashi no Arrietty with a theatrical release due in 2010.

The movie will be an adaptation of Mary Norton?s famed ?Borrowers? series of children?s novels, begun in 1952, which describe the adventures of a race of tiny people living amongst normal humans.

However, instead of being set in fifties England the story will be transposed to the Japan of 2010, with the titular protagonist Arrietty being a 14-year-old girl.

Cinematic release is due in the summer of 2010, doubtless with an international release planned in short order after this.

With the novel already a classic, Studio Ghibli looks set to strike gold once more?

Source.

This could be awesome.

^ You might want to remove the hotlinked image.

ANN has detailed info on the new film (Y) Another Studio Ghibli winner on the way with a director better than Goro no doubt :D

Radish?

Yeah i watched the trailer for that and i am not really sure what the point of the movie is supposed to be. Unless it is either a Recap or a series summery in a movie form. Still going to watch it though.

    • A Warhammer 40K racing game and a chess roguelike are free to claim on the Epic Games Store by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The Epic Games Store has returned to its standard giveaway procedures after weeks of mystery freebies. The latest drop is replacing last week's Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest games and has brought in a double giveaway offering Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks and The Ouroboros King. As always, the game is yours to add permanently to your Epic Games Store library within the next seven days. From the duo, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks lands from developer Caged Element, and it's a racing game that was only released last year. The title has you piloting Ork buggies, tanks, and aircraft modeled after the popular tabletop miniatures. The focus is on multiplayer mayhem, offering multiple game modes that have you fighting other players as everyone tries to survive and get across finish lines or destroy mechs. Crossplay support between PC and consoles has now arrived as part of a free update, too, giving a boost to matchmaking times for this multiplayer-focused title. If racing carnage isn't your thing, then The Ouroboros King offers tactics. The indie title is a mashup of chess and standard roguelike experience, letting players create their own armies to defeat an enemy faction, all on the familiar checkered board. There is a procedurally generated map, pieces with special abilities, relics that bend the game's rules to make overpowered builds, and more. The newly available Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks and The Ouroboros King giveaways on the Epic Games Store are set to run until June 11, giving PC gamers seven days to claim the latest offer. Once this closes out, a new freebie will take its place on the same day. Don't forget that mobile gamers can check out the Epic Game Store's weekly giveaways on Android and iOS to grab a freebie there as well.

    • The most consequential argument in technology right now is not about which model is smartest or which chip is fastest. It is about whether the entire enterprise is a generational revolution or the largest financial bubble ever inflated — and the unsettling answer, increasingly, is that it may be both at once.,,,, https://www.techtimes.com/articles/318138/20260610/ai-revolution-ai-bubble-trillion-dollar-question-splitting-wall-street-silicon-valley.htm This is a very good read.  For what it is worth, I agree with the answer to the question. LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. LibreWolf also aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and annoyances, as well as disabling anti-freedom features like DRM. LibreWolf features: Latest Firefox — LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. • Stopped using Windows as my main workflow. Migrated completed to Linux. Been happier than a clam without a single issue nor windows annoyance. Leaving Windows has shown me the light at the end of the tunnel, or rather I went through the tunnel and I'm already at the light.
