Th-that-that's ridiculous! Tell me you live in Japan. There's no way that type of car will be seen as cool here in the US unless I'm missing out on something.

Yuri has now taken the title of otaku on Neowin, hands down. I like anime but not THAT much.

I'm curious about this now. How much do those cars cost (including the paint job)?

I found some more examples of otakus translating the art onto other types of transportation:

http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/25143/Anime+Cars.html

Even bicycles. :p

I live in the UK which isn't too bad on things like that also it'll be something i take to cons and the like my regular car will be a Lancia Stratos.

Haha, the UK does have a crazy ricer culture there so I guess it is acceptable on your side of the pond. Only around 500 of the Stratos were created, how are you manage to get that one?

Hmm, interesting. I was browsing Reddit and stumbled upon these two pics of a user's desktop and desk. Otaku culture = creepy.

Beat this, Yuri.

You haven't seen Melonpan's room have you?

Whatever makes them happy I guess. I can't see myself looking into anime as much as I am now when I finish up college. The ecchi school girls just seems ridiculous even now. Japan has a real weird perspective on young adults (females) posing in swimsuits and sell them as "ecchi" mags to adults.

Ah, Japan... You even had trouble putting child pornography into law because of the heavy role the Yakuza and others play in that industry.

Watched the second OVA of Denpa Teki na Kanojo. It was decent but it doesn't really beat the complexity of the first OVA. Totally new characters (though Hikaru was bloody annoying as before :/) and less gory action but it delivers with an atmosphere full of mystery, mind games and an unexpected twist at the end (divine retribution :D) (Y)

Character design was really done well and it was great to finally see Ame's face behind that long fringe, she kicked ass being her monotone self

An interesting episode of Bleach, going back in time with Kouga and his Zanpaktou (Y) Is this possibly why Byakuya is trying to uphold his (or the Kuchiki family) pride being alongside Muramasa because of the way Kouga is linked to his family?

ghibli-unveils-karigurashi-no-arrietty-the-borrowers.jpg

Studio Ghibli has announced its next movie will be an anime adaptation of famous children?s story ?The Borrowers,? to be entitled Karigurashi no Arrietty with a theatrical release due in 2010.

The movie will be an adaptation of Mary Norton?s famed ?Borrowers? series of children?s novels, begun in 1952, which describe the adventures of a race of tiny people living amongst normal humans.

However, instead of being set in fifties England the story will be transposed to the Japan of 2010, with the titular protagonist Arrietty being a 14-year-old girl.

Cinematic release is due in the summer of 2010, doubtless with an international release planned in short order after this.

With the novel already a classic, Studio Ghibli looks set to strike gold once more?

Source.

This could be awesome.

ANN has detailed info on the new film (Y) Another Studio Ghibli winner on the way with a director better than Goro no doubt :D

Radish?

Yeah i watched the trailer for that and i am not really sure what the point of the movie is supposed to be. Unless it is either a Recap or a series summery in a movie form. Still going to watch it though.

    • The problem of course is simply that government does not always know best. My point is that agency is taken away from the EU consumer in these cases. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that governments (politicians) are inherently good, and "looking out for me." Primarily they look to themselves and their own personal desires first, foremost, and always. When the EU or the DOJ fines these companies, claiming to "represent the welfare of the consumer," how much of these billion-dollar judgments are handed to the consumers they claim to represent? Not even a dollar, as I've seen. Yet the EUC lawyers who are paid to sit around and dream up these suits make huge commissions on the fines the EUC adjudicates, which is an ironclad fact I hope everyone is aware of. It's also rank corruption, of course, but that's another topic. Last, when the EU inflicts these judgments, or the DOJ, take your pick, the costs are bundled right along in the cost of the goods and services these companies provide the consumers they are "looking out for." If you are someone who believes his government is his savior then you have my condolences. I think Apple is right here, because the whole scheme of consumer choice is that consumers pick and choose among the products companies offer. Microsoft Windows is more compatible with third party software and hardware than any desktop OS on Earth, which is my sole reason for choosing it. Just because the EUC forces companies do certain things it knows the companies do not want to do, "or else", has no bearing on consumer benefit. This Siri thing is almost idiotic it's so infantile. But this is what the EUC does when the EU in Brussels becomes cash-strapped and needs a big infusion of cash. Some people get upset by "big companies" but it's the opposite when governments dwarf the size and scope of these companies, which is so obvious it hurts.... I mean you can't honestly believe that forcing Apple to do things with Siri it has its own reasons to decline is something that "opens up" Apple, do you? Say it aint' so...
    • Looks like many years since the request was made, a directory tree view finally may be added. https://github.com/files-community/Files/pull/18537
    • There's this from last year https://gist.github.com/threat...364659a8887841aa43deca4efd9 but nothing about a buffer overflow that MS somehow can't code against. No matter what, it makes sense to take a "protected by default" approach.
