[Official] Anime/Manga Thread

I just found out that Jin-Roh: Wolf Brigade is part of an epic called Kerberos (Cerberus) Saga.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerberos_saga#Releases

In 1999, the manga series was completed (Acts 5~8) and re-released as two compilation volumes. Few months later was released Jin-Roh (人狼, Jinrou) the anime adaptation of the first manga. It remains the franchise's most popular work outside Japan until today.

^ Surprised that you didn't know that, being a fan of Oshii's work an all. StrayDog: Kerberos Panzer Cops is a decent film if you haven't watched it (Y)

Very happy that Black Lagoon's 3rd season OVA is focused on kick-ass Roberta

Anyone have an answer to my question about which path FMA manga/anime is taking regarding Edward and Winry?

Less Roberta. More Rok, please. The only reason I watched the anime series was because of Rok and his interaction with characters who are the complete opposite of him. Nothing beats the Balalaika arc.

I never really checked into Jin-Roh's background but always had a feeling that it was just a fraction of a huge story that I did not know.

@Masked Forever: Don't forget that Radish™ probably also shares a similar opinion about it :p

I'm the minority when it comes to the drama genre and slice of life in this thread. I can count the number of anime series from those genres that I actually enjoyed on one hand.

OMG I can't wait for that to come out!

Black Lagoon is one of the best action shows out there :)

Revy ftw!!!

Holy ****. Bleach manga was EPIC!

This was sort of what I was expecting the whole time. I knew Aizen was going to start to reveals Ichigo's hidden family secret and that his Dad would show up in time, but still.... so ****en great of an chapter!

Finally Naruto Shippuuden has started on an I've been greatly looking forward to!

And the manga has reached an intriguing point as well :woot:

Dude I'm so glad that filler is over. Maybe naruto will finally get to chuunin lol

I heard that they are going back to filler rather soon but I hope that is false :p

Also did you agree with sasuke and how he came to that conclusion?

Like I've said before.

I'm a huge fan of Gundam Wing, Full metal alchemist, and .hack//

I've decided to throw in my queue the following: Gundam 00, Death Note, and Paprika. I also need to start watching FMA Brotherhood.

Cheers to any more recommendations! I prefer English dubs.

:( Gintama is ending. I blame Bleach. Lame shounen anime with so much filler that they can create four new seasons with it. Gintama > Bleach and Naruto. It is the best shounen anime series in the past two years.

The final episode was aired on March 25th. "Yorinuki Gintama (rerun of selected episode)" will start from April 5th.

Here's an interesting blog I came across: http://www.fabricerequin.com. It's very professionally made with some great photos by an 18 year old.

I take it you don't read the manga? :p

It would really suck if they did show a filler arc anytime soon :( Btw which conclusion are you referring to?

deathnote, best anime ever.

Paprika was awesome.

Havnt watched any gundams.

Just watched episode 16 of the first season of Code Geass (it's the one where Nunaly is taken). Probably the best episode of the series I've seen so far. Does anyone else find Lelouch's character just really annoying, something about him just makes me really dislike him.

    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
