@Masked Forever: What do you mean with that last bit? :/

@shakey: It happens a lot in anime to be honest. It would've looked odd if they rushed that bit.

Ugh, here we go again. Discussing the same old thing we've been discussing twice already.

I liked this version much better than the other one. Not sure exactly why, but I like the thought of the Little Blob in a jar trying to be "better" than man. The ending does wrap it up nicely lol.

Mustang was never banished. During the fight and after, they kept blaming other soldiers and generals for what was happening, but Mustang was never mentioned except by those who knew the truth. Mustang had his troops throwing the propaganda his way the whole time.

I like how Mustang thinks he can beat the previous fascist leader by doing a national broadcast he planned ahead for. Another thing that irked me was that the fascist leader was running around town with swords chasing some characters instead of sending an elite special forces squad. Critical thinking FAIL!

That it does and would. But they could have done that at more parts of this fight... maybe I just imagined it going down differently in my mind while reading the manga lol.

^I think it's the later. You try to imagine how the anime would be but it always turns out differently.

@Masked Forever: A good question for you: Why do you feel the need to call Bradley a fascist?

He was a superman basically. He did single handedly take down a tank and who knows how many soliders lol. General Bradly FTW! lol

I found that Ed was more brazen and was more of a Shounen stereotype that overpower anything with his will by doing some super saiyan techniques instead of the down to earth Ed of the first anime series who realized that he was not the best alchemist and simply a child prodigy and nothing more. The first anime discussed more of the adventures of an Edward Elric traveling the world for a solution to his brother's affliction instead of the Edward running around and then teaming up with everyone (even Winry's parents' killer and other homunculus!) When I think more of the parallel worlds, I think it served the mangaka's wish to introduce her imagination of a fascist Nazi state better than what was discussed in the manga.

I think I preferred how Edward was more of a standalone complex rather than the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" philosophy that greatly affected the last manga/anime arc.

This series sure did change how the main characters acted. The first one had them as extremely mortal, flawed, but talented kids. This series had them as sort of "the chosen ones". Of course, this series opened up with having the kids see the gate of truth, and telling us that since they saw this truth, they knew a whole lot more than the average person, which in turn gave them all the confidence and whatnot they had. There were many times during this anime I thought about how weak and vulnerable they should have been, and how strong they actually were. And this was more of a Shounen stereotype for sure, as the fights and characters really expressed it. But I still think this one is the better, just because I have followed the Manga for so long.

@Masked Forever: Ugh, you still don't understand the anime if you feel the need to say what you said in that last sentence.

Also, the bit underneath the spoiler tag isn't really an answer to the question I asked, plus that again shows you don't see what FMA:B was about. Also, where do you get this "fascist Nazi" stuff from? It's kinda what I asked some post back "Why do you feel the need to call Bradley a fascist?"

But oh well, we're discussing the very same thing for the 3rd time and I'm quite done with it. I don't get it why we can't talk about FMA:B without bringing up what's been discussed already. It's kinda like talking about NGE, Gundam or Code Geass in this thread.

The manga describes him as a fascist leader. Many of the Alchemists even mention how the nation is under fascist rule! Even the Chinese prince tells Ed how his nation needs to be reformed from the inside to prevent genocides and its army from going at war with the prince's own country.

I am not formulating such absurd notions out of spite. I am using direct references to dialogue from the manga as proof. In fact, I can even attest to the notion that the mangaka took the typical, safe way of depicting three nations based on Germany (Ed's own country), Russia (Ice Queen General's base location which is described as extremely cold) and China (the Prince and Princess fighting for their rights to succession). The manga scanlators' notes state this.

I'm liking shunsui's fight, don't know why but soifon's fight was ehhhh.

Ya, but when they went back to her fight with the good old music, it seemed much better. But Shunsui's fight is just great. I have been waiting for this fight, because the manga didn't really describe his bankai in a good manner. So I'm hoping the anime does a better job and showing what and how it really works.

Just seen the last episode of FMA: B and man, that must've been the best episode so far. Again a touchy episodes yet happy towards the end.

The part where Hoheneim wanted to sacrifice himself in order to revive Alphonse was really touchy. Specially how frustrated Edward was during that part. Then the part where Edward was going to sacrificing his "Truth", from that point on I felt that this episode was the best one so far.

Can't believe the anime is going to end next week.

Agreed. I loved the bit at the end with Hohenheim at Trisha's grave as he moved on (emotional no doubt) and the music in the second half of the episode was totally spot on (Y)

I just subcribed to www.anime-access.com anybody else have a sub there?

I'm loving it so far! :D

How much do they restrict their bandwidth for non Plus members? Isn't it simpler to visit {Insert awesome anime torrent site here} and download it the same day the fansub groups release their episodes? Is it not ethical to make money from other people's work by charging premium accounts?

I can see the benefit of Crunchy Roll for those dedicated anime watchers who want to have the latest episodes of the latest anime as it airs but nothing more.

    • If its the devs fault you would think Unreal would help M$ take full advantage of Unreal and work with them to fix the performance issues. Otherwise they are catching unwarranted bad press.
    • Thanks for the advice guys, I'll give my current GPU a clean and then run the benchmarks to see how similar it is. Hopefully a bit of a clean-out will help it last a bit longer.
    • Pretty sure those will still be in this game. The series' well-explored psychosis themes will return as well.
    • "performance issues? what performance issues?!"
    • Microsoft making much needed change to Windows 11, 10 Patch Tuesday security updates by Sayan Sen Recently, Microsoft delivered its latest Defender patches for Windows 11 ISOs. These definitions are released from time to time alongside the general security updates available during Patch Tuesday. Speaking of Defender, the company has now announced another important change that affects how security updates are delivered to enterprise devices running Windows. According to a recent announcement, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's endpoint detection and response (EDR) updates will no longer be bundled with the monthly Windows security updates or Patch Tuesdays. Instead the company is shifting delivery of these updates to Microsoft Update, bringing EDR servicing in line with several other Microsoft Defender components. If you recall, Microsoft last year moved PowerShell updates to Microsoft Update (MU) as well since it provides automatic updates for Microsoft products and services. Thus the move is intended to allow Microsoft to deliver EDR improvements and security enhancements independently of the OS's regular monthly update cycle; this should enable faster deployment of protection updates without requiring organizations to wait for the next Patch release. For those unfamiliar, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's EDR capabilities are designed to help organizations detect, investigate, and respond to advanced threats across managed devices. Keeping these components updated is critical for maintaining protection against evolving attack techniques. The rollout has already began for Windows 10 devices in late May 2026 (last month) and Microsoft says it will gradually expand support to Windows 11 and the remaining supported Windows versions over the coming months. The company expects deployment across Windows 10 and Windows 11 to be completed by fall 2026 or around Q3 of this year. Once the transition is complete, EDR updates will be delivered through Microsoft Update using KB5005292, provided the required prerequisite updates have already been installed. Microsoft is also introducing a new Defender Update Service as part of the change. Following installation of the first update, devices will automatically create a new directory located at %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Microsoft Defender\Defender Update. Microsoft notes that restarts may occasionally be necessary in case of "rare" failure scenarios. For most organizations, the tech giant says no action will be required as long as Microsoft Update is already permitted within their update management strategy. Admins who rely on manually deployed update packages, however, will need to adjust their processes to ensure the new Defender update package is included. Microsoft also recommends reviewing internal documentation and notifying helpdesk and security operations teams about the updated delivery mechanism to avoid confusion during the transition. As a prerequisite, the tech giant notes that systems must be running Sense version 10.8798.25857.1000 or later and have one of the following Windows updates (or later) installed: Win11 24H2 KB5062660 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win11 23H2 KB5062663 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win11 22H2 KB5062663 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win10 22H2 KB5062649 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win10 1809 KB5063877 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) Server 2019 KB5063877 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) Server 2022 KB5063880 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) Server 2025 KB5063878 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) As always, organizations should verify that their update policies align with the new servicing approach before the broader rollout reaches all supported Windows platforms later this year. In case of major problems, the EDR update can be rolled back to the inbox version stored in %ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) using: MpCmdRun.exe -RevertMde -Product Edr -ToVersion Inbox For those who have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center portal, you can view the message here under ID MC1381119.
