Just finished FMA:B, sweet ending that wrapped everything up nicely and seeing how all the remaining characters progressed in the future was a emotional yet nice touch (Y)

10/10 from start to finish and in my all-time top five anime without a doubt

What do you think of the first anime series?

What do you think of the first anime series?

I've never watched it. I was going to start the first series just before Brotherhood began to air but decided not to as I read Brotherhood was more faithful to the original manga. Maybe I'll watch the first series somewhere down the line for comparison.

O_O When are you going to watch Cowboy Bebop too?

I'd like to know aswell!

Do you know if there is any new news regarding the new season? I haven't heard anything in a while :(

The new season about Roberta has started to air in Japan and subs are out :)

You've also got a PM about the omake ;)

Is it a waste of time? Or is it something that actually warrants a watch? It has mediocre reviews and everyone has said something about the ending.

I thought it was a good concept, somewhat unique as well.

As long as you can pay attention, you will get the ending.

It is worth seeing.

Can't say more, haven't seen it in years.

Finished Baccano. Absolutely loved it. i couldn't spot a character I didn't like in a way (except Szilard :p) I think it was episode 12 which was where everything was brought together and was literally action packed. The ending to the core 13 episodes was brilliant with Miria and Isaac. Literally ROFL'd.

Not sure what to watch now. Might watch one of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan or Mushishi or Planetes.

Holy crapness!

Rurouni Kenshin Live Action Movie ?in Production"

Japanese actor Takeru Satoh, known best for a series of roles in drama, has been identified as the most likely actor to play the role of Himura Kenshin in a rumoured movie adaptation of hit Shonen Jump bakumatsu era samurai manga Rurouni Kenshin.

One unnamed source connected with the film reports that the Rurouni Kenshin film is going ahead, and that Satoh has the role.

Satoh has ?just the right look, and there aren?t many actors with the right image for Kenshin? he says. Satoh himself has already trained in cinematic swordplay for an earlier samurai role.

Another source supposedly validates this:

?Back when it had just ended serialisation there was talk of a movie adaptation, but back then manga being adapted to film wasn?t something you really saw much, unlike now.

Add to this the fact that CG technology wasn?t very good? CG tech has come a long way since then. As a result, the movie was suddenly decided upon recently.?

Oh man, this could be just totally bad ass or just totally ruin the chances this will ever come back lol. I would love for this to come across in the fashion a lot of older samurai movies have done, and I sure hope they don't make it cheesy.

Read my previous reply to you? :p But not have been obvious but it was a reply to your post :)

You should definitely watch as it's by the same director plus it has those cameos. You're gonna laugh ones you notice them :D

I LOL'd at the end of episode 13 as well. Isaac and Miria all of a sudden noticing they haven't aged throughout the years  The both of them are funny as hell :p

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
