[Official] Anime/Manga Thread

Recommended Posts

Finished watching Gintama the other week. Found it absolutely hilarious

Is there anything else out there thats similar to it?

Maybe Arakawa Under the Bridge? (Even has some of the same voice actors)

And not really similar, but School Rumble and Nyan Koi, possibly...

yeah this thread went down hill ever since he left lol...

"He"? It's not only Masked who talked about other anime. It's just that it looks like the ones talking more then others in this thread, are only watching Bleach and Naruto, when there are loads more anime out there :p

On a side note; I planned Planzet today, but I'm gonna be watching tomorrow. It had to make place for Eden of The East the Movie II: Paradise Lost. Been waiting a long time for the conclusion to the series, so I just have to watch it first :D

I'm one of those that only talk about Bleach & Naruto, it's not that I don't watch other anime but first of all they don't last that long. 12 to 24 episodes max isn't talk worthy even if the story's good. I see anime mostly cause of the story, they tend to have much better stories than there live action counter parts.

Right now Sora No Otoshimono Forte, The world god only knows, Soranwoto, Bleach, Naruto, Otome Yokai Zakuro are just few of them that I watch regularly on CR.

I used to love eoe, but really forgot to watch the movie (yeah haven't seen the first movie yet :( ). I'll put both on my to watch list.

and there are some 2 or 3 episode OVAs from the early 1980's that still get talked about namely cause they had much more interesting plots than the regular shallow XXXX ep shounen.

Let me know how Eden of the East Movie II goes. Since the first movie was a bit disappointing i am in two minds as to whethr to watch this

Decided not to write a review as I've got a block atm, lol. It was awesome though. I really enjoyed it! It's a great ending to the series (Y) Plus he gets to do what he's been wanting to ever since he got the phone, lol

@Neo003: How are they not talk worthy? This thread is about anime, so that means about all anime, not just the anime that goes further then 26 episodes :p Both me, RadishTM and others used to talk about each anime we saw during the week. Now there's only talks about Naruto and Bleach. Doesn't make this topic about any fun tbh :p Start talking about other anime! :D

^^ So here's a start :p ...

What does everyone hope to watch from the fall anime releases? Due to a scarcity in employment opportunities combined with the lack of part-time jobs in my country I've got way too much time on my hand. So far I've lined 10 anime series (may increase) along with my regulars (i.e. one piece, naruto and bleach)

Plenty of anime that is talk worthy, but there aren't many that are coming out with new episodes and chapters weekly like the main ones that get discussed. I've tried talking about Gantz, but no one else really seems to keep up with the manga of that. There are just some of us who follow certain ones, and those get discussed the most. When something new comes along and takes the places or joins those ranks, it will change.

Sorry I didn't meant not worthy of talking about, it's just that that particular anime doesn't suit my taste or some are already over. But I agree it's good to talk about other anime/manga since some of my favorites were found here after someone talked about it.

I remember gantz anime when they first announced it (long long long time ago  ), but then it just skipped my mind and didn't see much of it. I am planning on watching the series now.

The anime is nice, but nothing compared to the manga. To get the real story, read the manga. It is so much more twisted and involves a lot more than just the Tokyo team that the anime dives into.

This season I'm gonna be watching: Star Drivers, Bakuman, Iron Man, Arakawa Under The Bridge x2, To Aru Majutsu No Index II and among those possibly ones I've got stored on my drive already :)

@+Neo003: Good, good :p I've got less time for anime due to having a job instead of going to school, but I will try to talk about anime I'm currently watching :)

What does everyone hope to watch from the fall anime releases?

Been a while since I posted in this thread but questions posed such as this encourage discussion and so here I am (Y)

For me this season it has to be Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge (Hoshi!), Bakuman, Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai, Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (long title is long), Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (Gainax have a hit on their hands), Tegami Bachi REVERSE and Yosuga no Sora.

And then there's the 1.2TB of archived anime which is continuously growing to watch alongside the above ....

Well, I guess it's save to say that I'll be watching the same one as RadishTM is watching. We both have the same taste in anime anyways, so it wasn't a surprise :p Plus I'll be watching the ones I had already spoken about. And added to that list are "Togainu no Chi" and "Shinrei Tantei Yakumo".

Also, I have to watch "Tegami Bachi REVERSE" after seeing season 1 :p I had also completely forgotten about "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt" after you showed me the trailer to it RadishTM :p It was a few weeks back so forgive me, haha. The anime kinda looks like "Dead Leaves" which I'm sure you'll like (Y)

I watched Gantz and enjoyed it but was a disappointed with the way they ended it. Been meaning to read the manga of Gantz but never quite got around to it and now my to read manga list has grown a bit more with the addition of Hight Shool of the Dead and few other titles

I decided to leave shows with prequels i havent watched for a later time. MM! is pretty funny too. I don't remember watching an anime with a similar theme (where the male protagonist is a hardcore masochist trying to be cured using sadistic methods :pinch: ) before so its new to me.

It turns out Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai is also referred to as Oreimo (which I think I'll stick to) :p

He better. All his friends now still have theirs... no good for him to be weaker than Inoue! lol. I'm happy though after hearing that. Though the story isn't as in depth as Naruto, Bleach is one anime I'm not ready to part with.

You would think Orihime, who has the power to reject events, could restore his powers. That or there's something special about Ichigo and they want him to go a different route. Aizen was about to reveal something about Ichigo before his dad cut him off.

Actually I was sad when one piece was out for a month, but it passed in a blink of an eye. But to say I was little disappointed with 423, kind of like halo 2 ending.

Also only 20,000 years, I would've given him at least 100,000.

Aizen and it seme he isn't bothered at all by that long sentence and thinking along the line

"buh, useless counsel i should had destroyed the 46 court after murdering the previous judges " :p

edit:

actually they should had execute him for high treason ! (the way it is supposed to be done to rukia or worse mathod)

mmmm prison = hell gate thingy right ?

He's Immortal they said, so he can not just be executed... they should just imprison him forever though lol.

    • I think it depends on what you're looking for to do, and the time you have to spare. With my Dwarf 3, I easily spend 3-4 hour sessions; half an hour driving to an un-light polluted place, another half hour unpacking and setting up the smart scope + tripod for equatorial tracking, then 15 more minutes mucking around with settings and shooting calibration frames, spending a few hours shooting, merging with past photo sessions, etc. It's crazy how time flies and I often get home later than I expected. It's something I still need to set aside a good part of an evening to do, all in all. For one session, where you often need like four for best results when it comes to deep space objects. Even with a smart scope like Dwarf 3, regular non-astro photography is still way more approachable to people getting into photography. I find this is a time consuming niche no matter how I go about it. With practice, I can probably begin cutting time here but I think where smart scopes find their home is among people who love to shoot the night sky but don't have the spare time to go deep with the "navigator level" attunement to the night sky itself in addition to everything else. Having said this, _if_ you have even more time to spend on this hobby, it will probably be even more rewarding to do it more by hand and learn the skies and the details of how it all works.
    • I misread the title and thought Teams itself would be redesigned. Imagine having this one as a native WinUI app.
    • Dell, HP PCs ran into endless reboot, BitLocker recovery loops but Windows 11 isn't to blame by Sayan Sen Last month Neowin reported on a major issue on Dell systems wherein a bug in its official support tool was leading to endless blue screen of death (BSOD) and restarts. Following our report, Dell officially acknowledged its SupportAssist-related crash issue, confirming that the culprit is not Microsoft's operating system but rather a faulty version of its own remediation software. In a newly published support advisory, Dell stated that version 5.5.16.0 of Dell SupportAssist Remediation and Alienware SupportAssist Remediation can trigger blue screen errors and unexpected system restarts. The company notes that the problematic component operates independently of the main SupportAssist application, meaning users should not remove the primary SupportAssist software when troubleshooting the issue. According to Dell, the crashes are linked specifically to the SupportAssist Remediation service, which is bundled with SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools, and as such it has since released an updated version, 5.5.16.1, which is said to resolve the problem. Affected users are advised to first verify whether version 5.5.16.0 is installed by checking the Installed Apps section in Windows Settings. If so, Dell recommends updating SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools through either SupportAssist's "Update Software" feature or Dell Command Update. Dell also advises users to back up important data before performing the update and to ensure systems remain connected to power throughout the installation process. If you are still having issues though make sure to report to the Dell support forum. As it turns out though Dell is not the only PC maker currently dealing with update-related headaches as HP is also facing a separate but probably equally frustrating issue involving recent Windows Secure Boot updates that were released with recent Windows 11 Patch Tuesdays. Similar to Dell, HP also put up its own support article where it explains the issue. The company says that affected devices could hit a brick wall when booting as they run into a BitLocker recovery loop after the April 2026 updates. The problem appears to affect systems wherein the new UEFI Secure Boot CA 2023 certificates fail to apply properly. As such affected users will find themselves entering their recovery key over and over again despite the system otherwise functioning normally. HP says such PCs should be updated to the latest available BIOS version and configured with the necessary Secure Boot certificates before installing Microsoft's Windows 11 Patch Tuesday updates. Systems that are already experiencing the problem may require BIOS configuration changes to restore normal boot behavior. Admins can find information regarding that in the support article here on HP's official website.
    • Getting further away from the artistic study of mental disease that was the first game... (which never needed any sequels to begin with) But I get it, a company has to make money. And the second was at least visually impressive, if not in any other way.
    • If its the devs fault you would think Unreal would help M$ take full advantage of Unreal and work with them to fix the performance issues. Otherwise they are catching unwarranted bad press.
