[Official] Anime/Manga Thread

Awesome, I actually have that one on pre-order! :p

Does it get any better that you know of? Kinda curious about that one.

I finished the first season of Druaga (12 episodes) and I liked the show, I hope the 2nd season answers some questions!

The setting of the show is immersive I found, basically they are just trying to climb a tower and defeat the boss... pretty simple but entertaining. Some nice graphics too (Y)

As for Gintama, the characters weren't bad, but I have trouble watching anime shows that don't compound each other story wise. The only show I can think of that I liked in that format was Mushi-shi

I understand that right anime & manga are soon be going hand to hand (which isn't good for either).

Well if you're talking about the good 90% being banned some time mid summer then it wont end fully as the likes of perfectdark and share will provide a way to distribute it.

Sometimes simple entertainment is the best imo. (Y) Just found the complete (2 season) Druaga box online, seems like I got something to watch in a couple of days. :)

I know what you mean, some anime shows you feel you're watching loose episodes instead of one show with a storyline. Although it depends on the anime I guess, some I just don't understand until I rewatch them and realize the story was there all along but I didn't see it.

It has already started, if you see in some store where they used to display most manga?s in front are now in the back room or already taken out. Then anime will turn into 18+ so can?t air on TV, even to showing breast and butt is ok if it?s 3d but nooooooo for 2d.

haha yeah exactly, that's how it feels sometimes!

I've watched half of season 2, starts off quite slow, getting a lot better. Definitely worth a watch if you ask me. Although this style of anime is up my alley.

I've heard some good things about Fairy Tail, anybody else see it?

Anyone watched the Naruto Uniqlo Naruto x UT OVA? Was it some kinda spoiler special?

I just watched it. It showcases a fight between Naruto and Sasuke that hasn't taken place in the manga or anime yet so I'm not sure if it can really be considered a spoiler. It could be the two people they show at the end are the spoiler but I'm not sure.. they were revealed a long time ago.

Ah I'm glad to hear it was good. I saw too many people complaining  Should try make some time to watch it.

Btw is there another Gundam 00 movie due right? Or am I remembering wrong?

The current movie is the end of Gundam 00. The other movie you're remembering might be the long awaited Gundam Seed movie. Thought, I don't think that that one's going to happen anymore.

Also, I can see why too many people complained about Gundam 00, as it's quiet different then the series. And to be fair, the ending could've been a little bit better as it somewhat feels rushed and weak.

Besides that though, I really enjoyed it and I'm glad that I finally had the chance to watch it.

I might be easier pleased then others with these type of things, things that I love, so this might also be the reason why I don't instantly think about the negative sides of said topic. I rather just look at the whole, and say how I felt about said topic after the ending of it.

It's why I might've clashed sometimes with Masked Forever in this thread, lol :p

That, I do understand :p Had a few glashes with the guys at GG when they said they weren't going to sub it and also when they decided to drop Bakuman  Nevertheless I'm thankful that they did sub the movie :pinch:

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
