Interesting Read http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/02/why-anime-fans-pirate-the-shows-they-love.ars

I have to agree. The time it takes for some episodes to come across is just insane. Then they try and sell a series, but they break it down into episodes, where you are paying roughly 25$ bucks for 3 to 4 episodes, and a whole series of a show with over 100 episodes will cost you dearly. And when the professionals do it, they butcher it all to hell. There really is no going back from a great fansub once you have experienced it. Why don't they hire these guys? lol

this is why im learning Japanese so i can bypass all the fansub drama.

Is Japanese the only language you have to learn though? Aren't the anime dependent upon region? I always had the impression that some would be in Cantonese , others Japanese, and others in another form, requiring waaay to much verbal learning that I could master lol. If it is just Japanese, damn I wish I could do that atm lol.

Yeah as animé is only broadcast in Japanese.

I agree with article, I also would spend money to get a quality sub then what Funimation, Viz and even Bandai are putting out. I'm not pirating or anything I have sub for CR and I watch Hulu and I buy dvd's for Naruto, and few other, but when I compare both fabsub wins hands down.

As Azusa said but there are lot of American cartoons tried to copy Japanese animation, plot etc. (only 1 or 2 are good) but they're still not compared to the original creators of the anime. But Azusa is wrong on "only broadcast in japan", it's does broadcast few shows on adult swim on cartoon network.

i would hardly call CN a proper animé broadcasting channel and even then you gotta suffer some crappy dub.

It's a start, I agree. But sometimes when the dubbing is just that bad couldn't it actually give the viewer a bad impression of anime? Certain voice actors don't bring out the feel of the scene properly and in other cases the voice just doesn't suit the personality of the character.

Just thinking out loud btw

That's it, that's how I got more interested in anime and rather sub and then raw. The first anime I saw was dubbed and so horrible voice acting but I thought the story and animation was top notch only if the anime was mute. Then I tried to find the raw version and see what difference it made, that's how I found fansub. We don't need kids for that matter but we need kids with talent to be a fan of anime.

Bleach anime ended the arancarr saga finally, and I felt that the anime did a good job of staying to the manga, even making the end battle seem more intense actually.

The Bleach manga still hasn't shown us anything, but is throwing in some odd assassination ploy... don't know what to make of it yet.But got to give it some time, as they have to build up a new main focus, while trying to keep us still entertained with whatever gems they can throw at us...

Naruto anime has a lot of catching up to do, but I have a feeling things are going to get insanely great once all the action starts.

Naruto manga is insane.....

The whole ninja war is just crazy. Some of these old ninjas are just so powerful, and the fights are actually pretty intense, with people dieing and everyone who has been reincarnated.

And I feel we still haven't seen anything. I can't wait to see this animated out.

What Adult Swim shows now is pretty bottom of the barrel. They go for mainstream things that they think will sell well. Nothing wrong with that though, they have advertisers and all.

If you’re looking for anime on TV, Syfy runs a Monday night block. They show pretty mainstream stuff (nothing subbed, I believe) but it’s better quality than what AS has been showing. Also, there used to be a Funimation station don’t know what became of it though. And if all else fails, On Demand might have something.

That's the best we're going to get in US anyway, there aren't many anime fans as much as stupid cartoon fans in US (carp like Oblongs, super jail, aqua teen, squidbillies and mongo wrestling alliance).

Anyway did anyone see Break blade/Broken Blade or something, I saw first few episodes long time ago but haven't see anything lately. Is it still airing or what.

Yeah after the last Naruto anime episode, I went back to read the manga and I went thru like 20 chapter and was thinking it will take almost a year for anime to catch up to those 20 chapters (

Also can't wait to see what Naruto says after feeling biju's chakra

) Bleach on the other end will go on into another Anime only arch, cause it’s just really too close to manga.

so long as they made it as cool as zanpakutou rebellion arch

not as boring as vempire arch or amagi something

So I just unlocked all the character in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. Minato is uber cool :punk: and Tobi is just funny to play with :ike: Now to find some friends to play the VS battles

On a different note, I liked how Fairy Tail ended this arc by showing some highlights of what happened in the arc as the ending credits. Pretty emotional ending to an arc of this nature (much more moving than when i read the arc on manga)

Dude, if you have it for ps3, i'll play with ya man. me and my friends play it a lot, and I have always wanted to play against someone else. Online matches are insane when you are against people who just want to pure rape you lol. The game is great though. Huge improvements from the ones on the ps2, which I still love. but ya, if on PS3, message me, PSN horsdckdotmpg

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
