[Official] Anime/Manga Thread

Naruto , while the story takes place as them being kids, is good and tedious. But stick through it. Once Shippuuden starts, the series really takes off.

Yeah, the housemates girlfriend is onto Shippuden and has already warned us that it takes forever to get going.

Well that's shounen anim? for ya Try a show called Kodomo No Jikan.

I shall do, thanks for the recommendation :)

Welcome to the darkside  you're gonna love it here, and answer to the first question yes indeed it's lovely "fan service" (not that much actually) anime. But the story itself is really great, I've yet to see last episode. Been really busy lately.

Ahh, so the term is "fan service". I've been wondering if there was any terminology linked to those types of features. I'll make sure I persevere with it then!

Man, they were amazing. Grieves started the show, and got it pumped up instantly. Have to say, I enjoyed LightSpeed the most out of his songs. Then Atmosphere played last, after Blueprint, and they were amazing. I've seen Atmosphere live before, and once their sound system wrecked, and Slug went into the crowd and started just freestyling and signing his songs without any real beats... it was a moment I'll never forget... but I don't miss anything Ryhmesayers/Doomtree. They come to Austin a lot, and I make it to basically every show I can. Had a drink with POS, got hugged by Dessa :), and bumped fist with Ant just the other day !!! My friend had me take his picture with grieves, but it was too dark, so only got a black square. Grieves was a cool dude, got to talk with him a little. This girl me and my friend were near got us partially back stage after Grieves finished, so we were able to meet some of them, but not Slug... he was infront of the building, shaking hands and talking to those entering the concert :(

Only one I still need to really meet is Astronautalis. Seen him perform plenty, just haven't shaken hands or got a picture with him yet.

Man, you're the only person so far that seems to know what Ryhmesayers is..... good to be able to talk about this **** :) lol

Blueprint as well?! He's amazing, I can't get enough of his new album. Loved 1988, too. That story about Slug really does not surprise me, it's just what I'd expect to hear about given his undeniable passion. I'm not a huge Doomtree fan, but I've only just gotten hold of one of their albums recently, but I have heard great things about them. I could go on, but all of what you've mentioned has just upped the envy scale. Closest I've got to any interaction with Rhymesayers artists and associated acts is the odd Twitter response from Psalm One/Eric (Atmosphere) & Blueprint, but then again I do live in the wrong country to be a RS obsessive!

I can't say I know of Astronautalis, I'll have to do some research on 'em.

I know exactly what you mean about RS being off most peoples radar. I've managed to get my housemate into all of it, but I asides from him I only knew of two people who even know who Rhymesayers are. Unfortunately one of them is a hip-hop snob, who claims things such as Slug doesn't know how to rap, RS is nothing special and because he's been collecting hip-hop records for twenty years his opinion is more valid... blah... blah... blah. In other words he seems like he's putting them all down just to be "different". The other person was a good friend who got me into Atmosphere/Brother Ali/Eyedea three or four years ago

I'm really getting into Ill Bill, Vinnie Paz, Necro, Urbalist and Kendrick Lamar's mixtape 'O(verly) D(edicated)' at the moment.

but that's the show's main selling point also HSOTD has the cutest loli for it's genre.

Well, that's the second anim? related definition I've learned today!

Very nice collection! I'd get pictures of mine up, but my housemate is a bit of an untidy **** and they're currently all over the bloody shop.

+1 For The World At War.

Also, is that The Condemned I see with Stone Cold Steve Austin and... Vinnie Jones? :o

Watched "Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door" this weekend. It had the exact same vibe as the series had, which was a huge plus. Even Ed and Ein had the time to have one of their humorous just like the series. The animations in the fighting scenes where also really well done. Loved it thoroughly! (Y)

It's too bad they don't make anime anymore with that same quality as those classics have.

Agreed (Y)

Currently watching Mahoromatic myself. Nearly towards the end and I'm enjoying it so far; has a good balance of action/comedy :D

I am looking forward to the new Berserk series, but judging from the trailers it might have bad 3D-2D integration.

Studio 4?C are pioneers when it comes to animation, I got faith in them to pull this off. Gonna watch it regardless; I love the original anime.

Amazon is now cracking down on Yaoi manga, with several titles that have been available on the Kindle since 2009 being delisted and others now being rejected, according to Digital Manga Publisher. DMP has also stated that Amazon has not given any rationale for the rejections and removals, and Amazon has not been answering emails or phone calls from journalists asking about the subject.

I've been downloading dual audio versions of my anime since I like subbed and my roommates occasionally watched anime but like dubbed.

Is there a way I can burn it to dvd and preserve the dual audio?

OR...

Burn it to dvd so that there are two options.

- Japanese Subbed.

- English Dubbed.

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
