Nice man, stay committed I'm sure you'll enjoy it (Y)

It'll take a while to get caught up, but I have a special place in my heart for OP. I think it has the best character development of any long running anime.

I agree with this too. It's a long run but it's worth it

rustix sig = spoiler alert. lol.

i keep seeing random one piece pics, so i know what characters join them before i even see them :pinch:

you say it has the best character development, even compared to monster? :o

I haven't seen Monster yet so I couldn't say. (I have it on my HDD though)

That's too bad! Try not to see OP pics on the net! It's hard I know, the same thing happened to me.

Hey everyone. I want to ask your advice. The only anime I have been interested in was Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z (hated GT). I also briefly watched InuYasha, and would consider doing it again. Oh boy this is pathetic, I have watched the entire DBZ series about five times, and am watching it again with my girlfriend. We are almost at the Buu Saga. Anyways, could somebody recommend me a new anime to watch? I have tried Naruto and Bleach, but I really do not enjoy the main character being like a thirteen year old (or whatever) kid. I do enjoy a lot of death and destruction, though. :)

Watch Deadman Wonderland. It ends on a cliffhanger (for a second season I'm sure), though. Only 12 episodes, last I checked.

Long running series nowadays are lacking in quality.

I have this problem too. If a main character is not some one I can relate to, I have a hard time watching it. Especially if the character is much younger that what I am. I had a hard time watching Naruto at first, but what can make it a lot easier to to start at Naruto Shippuuden. They are more grown up, and while most likely still around 18ish, are more adult in their behavior. Also the story gets pretty adult themed in Shippuuden, and if you can enjoy it, you will want to start from the beginning of Naruto just to see how everything pieced together. Quit a treat really.

Bleachs main character, while he is supposed to be in High School, seems to be more older in my mind at least. I guess it is the way they have almost all the characters basically living and providing for themselves that makes it seem more 20ish for their ages, but I never had a problem with it.

Give FLCL a try, very great and wacky.

Gantz is good as well.

Beserker is epic and a must see for anyone who calls themselves a anime fan.

Browse through a few of these last pages of this though, and we have mentioned a great deal of different types though, because I can't remember any more atm :p

Now, onto my usual schpeel....

Bleach manga is right now epic and just plain old WTF! If you have read it, I'm sure you are the same. There is a very happy moment, but on the other end, you are left thinking.. "Really... this is how you do it... what next huh!?"

Bleach Anime is now dragging too long with this filler. It isn't bad, but I'm ready for the real story to be animated out.

Naruto is just pure epic. While the Anime is in filler mode at the moment and taking its sweet time getting back to the story, once they do, all hell is going to break loose. And for the manga, it is just too exciting. Every chapter for the past month has been full of twist and tension. I'm really glad I stuck with this series up to this point, because it is just so worth seeing everything go together, and also seeing even more of the puzzle with missing pieces being revealed.

If you give Bleach a chance I think you'd like it. How much of it have you watched?

Others you could try based on your description:

Rurouni Kenshin - Old school but well done and has a great story arc in the middle of the show.

Cowboy Bebop - One of the best endings of all time, plus it's a classic.

Gurren Lagann - Yes the main character is a kid, but most would agree it's a great show. (Mecha style)

Berskerk - Fits your description.

Ergo Proxy - Dystopian setting. Not like the others but I think it's a very underrated show.

If you're from the UK you can get it from Manga UK. If you're from the states you'll have to wait for Manga UK to release it in the states in 2012 :)

I must be blind - I can't see anywhere to get it from the manga uk website? The "manga store" link keeps on redirecting me to sites that don't seem to sell anything? (from manga.co.uk & mangauk.com)

Are the subs any good on the UK version?

Hm, you're right. They did release it though :s Well, then the other option would be Amazon (Y)

Yeah but it's been held back till November so i ordered the Japanese version and as for subs im currently working on dealing with the issue of needing them.

Yep, so annoying it's been pushed back :(

I guess it'd be quite easy to rip the raw bluray & mux in fansubs if thats something you want to do. Hoping the UK version will include better subs though.

It's already been done by various groups since the Blu-ray was released in Japan a while back.

3rd Evangelion Remake Film to Open Fall 2012

The anime studio Khara confirmed that Evangelion Shin Gekij?-ban Q Quickening, the third film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, will open in Japan in Fall of 2012. The announcement was made during a new preview of the film that aired after the television premiere of the second film.

The third film was first revealed with a teaser that ran at the end of the second film's theatrical release. The "Q" or "Ky?" in the third film's title is a wordplay in Japanese; the first three films' subtitles are the names for the three classical movements (Jo-Ha-Ky? or Introduction-Exposition-Climax) of traditional Japanese music such as gagaku and Noh.

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
