[Official] Anime/Manga Thread

Recommended Posts

My feelings towards One Piece have been swinging the whole time.

On episode 130 now, but i was getting bored on the alabasta arc.

I wasnt that excited about it for some reason, and it seemed really dragged out.

But now that its over one piece is back to being hilarious.

Ranma 1/2 Gets Live-Action Special with Yui Aragaki

A live-action television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma ½ martial arts comedy manga will air this December as a two-hour special on Japan's NTV network. Yui Aragaki (Digimon: Data Squad, Koizora) will play Akane Tend?, and Kento Kaku (Paradise Kiss, Gokusen) and Natsuna (Gantz) will play the dual male/female sides of the title character Ranma Saotome.

Viz published the manga in North America, and it also released the television anime series adaptation and the various anime spinoffs.

^ One Piece just keeps better. It tends to drag a bit but the ending of an arc is always more than satisfying smile.gif

Agreed! After watching basically every episode of Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece, I'd have to say One Piece is my fav.

It used to be Bleach but I don't really like where they've gone with it lately.

I'm on episode 171 of One Piece now.

Skyopia arc.

Niice!! Sounds like you're watching them pretty quickly.

I remember when I started One Piece I was so happy there was like 450 episodes to watch. How quickly that dwindled down to zero lol

I usually watch 4 a day.

I can't believe how much these arcs get dragged out... I thought it was going to end 10 episodes ago.

every episode past it i was thinking "one more to go".

It's odd how the Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE is called Saviour Gundam. Anyone who watched Gundam SEED Destiny will remember that Athrun was gifted a Gundam named ZGMF-X23S Saviour by Durandal. So to me it's somewhat odd how they've named this Gundam the same as it hasn't happened before with Gundams.

Has anyone seen the new reboot of Hunter x Hunter? I never saw the original anime, but I was a huge fan of the manga way back. They say it's too rushed compared to the original, but to me it's everything I could have ever wanted in an anime for that legendary series. Wagnaria!! this season I also found exceptionally funny so far. Has a style of awkward humour that I just love.

I just started Tiger & Bunny from last season. It sounds sort of cheesy to be honest, but I am a huge fan at only episode 3!

Excuse me now. I'll go back to ignoring this thread.

Code Geass is the closest to a mech anime I've watched.

Whats a good mech anime?

Eureka Seven along with Neon Genesis Evangelion both are a must watch if you want to dive into mecha anime. Rahxephon is pretty great too.

I'd also say Gundam but there are many series to choose from when it comes to it. IF you want to watch Gundam and aren't a fan of classic anime, you could start with "Gundam 00" or even "Gundam Unicorn". The latter of the 2 is still being aired with 1 episode at the start and end of the year. If you do like classic anime and want to dive into Gundam, than you should watch "Gundam 08th MS Team", "Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory" and "Gundam Wing".

watched em both.

Eureka Seven was really good, NGE I watched when I was first getting into anime and I didnt like it, probably just looking for something else at the time.

Macross nothing better.

which one? there are a few, and i've heard that most of them suck. :p

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
