ASUS P5N32-3 SLI Won't POST after BIOS update

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just flashed up the BIOS on my HTPC, which was nessary to allow my new ram to function. I flashed under DOS and all went well, until it restarted and since then it refuses to boot up.

Have tried CLR_RTC and removing battery etc with no luck..

Would majorly appreciate some help

Cheers

I think your MB is toast. I had the same problem with a friend's computer that had the P5KC MB after I flashed the BIOS. Swapped it with a MSI board and he's happy; no problems.

I would pull the power cord and BIOS battery and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Put the BIOS battery back in, plug it in and try again. If that doesn't work for you, read the above paragraph.

Thanks for replies...

@x3lumin8x - I can't get into the BIOS Full Stop unforunately, it won't POST.

@afusion - Just the one DIMM. It worked but wouldn't standby anymore after the RAM upgrade, and the 1601 BIOS was supposed to improve compatibility.

@RAID 0 - I tried the battery thing but didnt have any luck :( I can't really afford to replace the board and its out of warranty so ideally need to try and fix if at all possible

My next step was going to be to try the stuff here http://www.biosman.com/biosrecovery.html

I'm a bit skeptical on that link you presented. Your board looks like relatively new it should come with a back up of the original BIOS or a dualBIOS setup of some kind.

Thats what I thought, as I know my Gigabye X38 has a quad bios (supposdely), but can't find anything like that with the ASUS :s

I was not suggesting that you buy a new MB, just telling you how I solved the problem. You might have to send it in to ASUS for repairs.

Sorry I thought you were suggesting I replace mine I have emailed ASUS but I'm not sure if they do RMAs in the UK :(

When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools.
