i hate winter

i don't know why but im really depressed right now. maybe it's the winter here in michigan that's got me down ? i mean im happily married, we just had a baby. but on the down side ive been out of work for along time and it really sucks because i cannot find anything. i love x-mas and new years but for some reason im not as excited this year so far.

does anybody else get down and out in the winter months ? :(

Agreed. Winters here are long, and despite it getting so cold, I prefer it over summer. I find myself spending more time with friends indoors & outdoors, and the air feels cleaner.

But not right now, though. Right now it's this slush crap that comes before the actual snow, and my pants are wet. :crazy:

Yeah, I prefer the winter as well, but then again I'm an odd one like that and usually feel rather bummed in the heat of the summer. Hopefully everything will freeze stiff here soon, though. The roads are disgusting and my coat gets dirty if I even look at my car - just about any weather beats precipitation at 0?C.

I'd rather freeze my ass off in the winter and sweat and heave in the summer. Plus, it gives me an extra excuse to crawl into bed early with the girlfriend. ;)

Work gives a bit of meaning to life. Like you make a bigger difference in the world. When you don't work, you're more prone to sickness, depression, yadda ya...

When you don't work, you're bored. And usually you won't be happy when you're bored. Makes sense I guess.

So get out there and hunt down that job. Anything it better than nothing. It's healthy for you. :)

I don't really care for winter all that much cause it's no longer that special to me. I work full time and only get one day off for Christmas, not like when I was in school and I got a few weeks or a month. Winter now to me means that I get dripped on by cold water and snow when I work on cars.

easier said than done man, the are NO JOBS here in michigan right now. im on 4 job boards, mi works, 5 temp agencies and still nothing. good thing my wife and i just got a couple of grand back from the federal government to tide us over for awhile.

I live in Houston, Texas so... I appreciate every bit of coldness we get. I don't care if I have to sit on my hands just to play an FPS, it's better than having to sit on my computer in boxers...

Except me, my senior year of school is stressful (my physics teacher needs to quit)...

I hated winter really bad until a few years ago. Then I started snowboarding and now it's not so bad. On the other hand, I am a letter carrier here in Regina, and yes we are famous for some of the worst windshield in Canada. That makes me hate winters.....

I love the winter. I get more depressed in the fall then any other time.

I find im more sociable and interactive in the winter, unless everyone else is just less social and makes myself seem more social by comparision.

I live in ny .I like winter. The cold keeps you awake. Just dress in layers.

The sky also gets much clearer.

People need to at least try to see the good in everything. Life is too short not too (trust me i know from experience).

I would say you have SAD. YOur job situation along with the current ecinomical climate, does not help matters.

Just try to think possitive and keep yourself as busy as possible with job hunting and chores.

I suffer SAD and it gets worse because this time of year is very quiet at work, so i have more time to think, so i have to find things to keep myself occupied, otherwise i will become sad and unhappy for really, no good reason.

the othe part of me (the realistic part) thinks its bloody cold and really wishes i didnt live in student flats
