Have either Steve Carell or Ben Stiller been in a non-Comedy/Serious role?

I have not seen them in one yet... both just seem to do stupid roles all the time! :(

Carell was in Little Miss Sunshine and Stiller was in Hot Pursuit. I don't think they're very comedic movies. Some people just do comedy..?

Stiller had a bit part in Empire of the Sun. Defiantly not a comedy. Reality Bites not much of a comedy. Keeping the Faith only kind of a comedy.

Yeah get smart was a lot more funny that I thought it would be.

Went with a few friends to the theatres, went in with low expectations and quite enjoyed it :)

Dan in Real Life is technically a comedy, but it's a pretty serious role. Good movie.

Dan in Real Life might have been classified as a comedy, but not the type of comedy Steve Carell normally does (get Smart, The Office, etc.). I was surprised at how well he did in that movie.

Agreed. It's a comedy, but only in the way real life is funny at times.

If you've watch Heavyweights, you've already seen every Ben Stiller character.

Steve Carell does straight stuff pretty well, although I think this is mostly because he delivers most of his comedy straight (by playing dumb) anyways.

Yes that character has showed up a couple times (Ex. Dodgeball) but I think that is a pretty harsh generalization.
