Samsung Spinpoint F1 Or Seagate Barracuda 7200.11?

I'm going to buy a second drive as I am having some problems with my current one. I have recently been hearing good things about these Samsug drives. Which would you choose?

Personally I'd get the Samsung. I've just bought a new 1TB drive myself and it's great. Super fast and quiet!

I just got the Spinpoint F1 1TB and it is as close to my Velociraptor in HDTach as my AAKS was... and that is fast

Is samsung reliable? I mean where did they come from? WD and Seagate have been pretty popular hard drive brands...then samsung comes along.

Get the Seagate. I have that exact drive, and I'm planning on getting another to set up a raid array. It's cool, quiet, and fast as hell.

Intelman: Samsung is reliable, there lower grade drives were not, but their Spinpoint is stick on.

I am a big Western Digital user all my HDDs are WD but i was told to try the 1Tb Spinpoint F1 and its an ace drive, 32mb cache with NCQ, i wouldnt touch Seagate with a bargepole personally.

Well, I used to use Seagate Exclusively, because of the 5 year warranty. I have switched to Western Digital because the performance is quite a bit better. I have owned 2 raptor 150s, one of which just died on me (in less than a year). So much for "Enterprise reliability".

for me,

WD and Seagate have a 5% failure rate. (only 2 of my old ones of each type died one me, but not till after 5-7 years of use)

Samsung has 100% failure rate (I only ever owned one, and it broke)

I've owned 5 wd drives and 3 seagate drives. I only had 1 wd digital drive fail but it was very old. besides that none have failed me.
