Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Coming

Kind of "meh" to me. I was hoping for something all new from Infinity Ward, like the rumored sci-fi FPS they were working on. They make good games, though, so it's hard to complain. Not confirmed that it's them and not Treyarch making the game, though.

Good news, they better do a good job.

So they're going for a new CoD title every year? They better be careful. People will catch on to rehashed tricks after a while. However, I'll be glad to see the modern weapons returning.

Its two different studios releasing them every other year, giving them essentially 2 years dev time each, and they already have a next gen engine used in CoD4/WaW that was developed by these guys.

So It shouldn't be that bad, as long as they do something special next to WaW.

I'm just amazed people got mad at EA for doing Battlefield every so often, yet hardly anyone ever seems outraged at these Call of Duty games, and only half I'd say are really worth it -- same with Battlefield.

1) I'd have to kill someone if they created anything "Sci-fi", eugh!

2) EA is the synonym for crappy games, IW is not.

I hope battlefield 3 comes out sooner then later. World at war has to be one of the worse nerrated games I've come accross. Not only that but it comes off looking and playing and generally feeling like a really good mod of CoD 4 then a stand alone game. Imo, leave WW2 now to Brothers in Arms to finish. As for this next one, they better make something impressive or people are just going to go meh.

Also sci-fi version would be a very bad mistake. look at BF2142 compared to BF2, epic fail. That's the worst thing they could probably do to a traditionally realistic game series.

I'm looking forward to better gameplay and graphics as well as a new storyline. That, and a bunch of new weapons/perks. :)

PS: Infinity Ward better work on this one otherwise I'll... cry.

Give me COD: Vietnam or something. Treyarch should have a restraining order against approaching said franchise. COD4 was good, but I feel that modern warfare will soon become overused.

COD7: Future Warfare can simply foxtrot oscar.

I hope battlefield 3 comes out sooner then later.

I'm thinking BF3 is myth, BF2 has/d a large follower crowd however no show regarding info/teasers of a sequel (No 2142 does not count).

I really like COD4 however the maps are VERY small resulting in a arcade feeling rather than teamwork :-(.

Then you must be playing with the wrong team, me and some friends can execute military type maneuvers and tactics on 90% of all maps in COD 4 and rarely ever lose as a result.

Just sayin ;)

They should slow it down a bit.

Every 2 years or something, or rotate, one year COD, next year another game, then COD, etc - If they feel they have the skills to pump out titles.

You're used to seeing sports games every year, but I dunno if FPS titles can start going that way :/

Launching a game out every year will slow down how much it actually goes through evolution and is a significant step up, as opposed to being really just an "expansion pack". That's okay for sports games as they have no story script, they remain the same progression wise, just have better visuals/game play tweaks and new rosters.

Insomniac pump out a title every year, rotating between Resistance and other stuff, and while they constantly make solid titles, you sometimes think if they slowed it down a bit they'd be able to add those extra layers of polish.

Look at how ridiculous Killzone 2 is looking, and fair enough when released that will have like a 3/4 year development time period. However it shows that taking a bit longer can help, even if it's just 2 years as opposed to 1.

To be fair though, the COD crowd will lap up more of the same, so let's see how this progresses. Seeing as Treyarch made the last, this game "Warfare 2", will essentially have had 2 years in development I believe, or at least longer than a year. But if Infinity take over doing all COD games now, that will be them each year.

Every year is great!

Treyarch then IW, Treyarch then IW.

Get better games as a result as the developers spend 2 years on each title. COD4 Was awesome, WaW is awesome imo and I have no doubt that the next game will be awesome :D

    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified.
