windows vista and limited connectivity

And are you directly connected to the internet -- or behind a router? Wired or Wireless? Sounds like your having an issue getting dhcp address.

I would suggest disabled IPv6. If behind a router - vs using dhcp to assign an address to your machine, set it static on the computer.

i get this mostly on wireless. Or when i am using my blackberry as modem(dial up connection).

How did you disable it? Just by unchecking it? Or did you set the regkey to disable all of it?

If its wireless on your own network, you could setup a static.. On other wireless network that would a real hassle, and would have to get with the owner of the network on what IP to use, etc. On your ISP using your phone as a modem that would be almost impossible to setup a static.

You can try and get a IP from dhcp in a few different ways without having to fully reboot the system. A simple ipconfig /renew will request an IP, or disable and renable the interface would also do it.

Q. How do I disable IPv6 in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008?

A. Unlike Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, IPv6 in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 cannot be uninstalled. However, you can disable IPv6 in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 by doing one of the following:

• In the Network Connections folder, obtain properties on all of your connections and adapters and clear the check box next to the Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) component in the list under This connection uses the following items.

This method disables IPv6 on your LAN interfaces and connections, but does not disable IPv6 on tunnel interfaces or the IPv6 loopback interface.

• Add the following registry value (DWORD type) set to 0xFFFFFFFF:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters\DisabledComponents

This method disables IPv6 on all your LAN interfaces, connections, and tunnel interfaces but does not disable the IPv6 loopback interface. You must restart the computer for this registry value to take effect.

    • The site is pretty sparse on features / tech specs. Can I plug it into a PC/hone/Switch via USB-C and use it as an external display? If so, what's the virtual resolution of the screen, the refresh rate, PPI of the image etc? Is the text crisp enough to use for coding at say 12pt? Is it good enough for playing dark games, like say Path of Exile 2? How about fast games like car racing games? Just how do they expect anyone to order this thing without giving out all this info?
