2010 Ford Mustang GT

Snowcrash, you're such a fanboy...

Anyways, seriously now the track you went to must have been a drag strip. Look at the specs between them you'll find this:

m3:

power: 420

torque: 295

curb weight: 3700lbs

mustang gt

power: 300

torque: 320

curb weight: 3450 lbs (manual, another 50 for automatic)

Lower weight and more torque, gee, I wonder why it beat the M3? Boggling. Try to beat the M3 on a circuit, your mustang would get creamed. Mustangs are NOT good cars. Fast in a straight line, sure, but that doesn't make it a good car.

American cars are about power, you should know this since you have one... The new Dodge Challenger's are what, close to 400HP the R/T? The Camaro SS is over 400HP.

Again, the number really doesn't mean much. The challenger might be 375 horse for the R/t (425 for SRT-8), but it isn't very fast in the 1320 because it's HEAVY AS HELL.

And just so you know, ford has a new 5.0L on the dock for the 2011 model year. 400 horse.

All I'm saying is Ford could offer better. In Europe, the new Focus RS will have what, 296HP, 325 torque? Forget the car class and weight, I'm saying the engine only brings in as much power and torque as the Mustang GT and they shove that in a hatch. Doesn't logic say that larger engine = more power? Or does this prove that European engines are more efficient?

It's good to know that the 5.0L beasts are coming back though :D

Your forgetting to factor in a turbo on the i5 that is probably around 12psi(at least) thats a Foprce Indution i5 making what an N/A V8 does. Also don't forget that a RS is about 35-40k in US dollars, that's insane and doesn't meet US emissions, the GT is roughly 25k, and (closer in price) he new GT500 is 43k, and at 8psi makes 540hp and meets emissions standards. That's 59hp/cyl for the RS and 67hp/cyl for the GT500.

Also lets not forget that the current record holder for the Virginia Ferrari club hill climb is a 1998 Mustang.
