schulze1963
How? I have TuneUp Utilities but can't find such an option. Hi FrozenEclipse, it is easy. First select the MS Vista aero style without useing Tuneup. Aero should be active. Then start the TuneUp Styler and select Luna Element. That is it. Some elements don't style in aero perfect (the startmenu and the window buttons). But it is ok. Lyric
I downloaded the file on my vista pc (32bit) and put it in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes but it doesn't show up under theme's when I right click the desktop and go to personalize...just wondering. I noticed most my other themes have a "Windows Theme" file, this one does not...it only has the VS file, and shell folder like the other visual styles come with. SimplyG
You first have to patch the three files uxtheme.dll;themeui.dll and shsvcs.dll before you can see the styles AskVG I downloaded the file on my vista pc (32bit) and put it in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themesbut it doesn't show up under theme's when I right click the desktop and go to personalize...just wondering. Lee G. Veteran Posted January 5, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 5, 2009 Wow, I'm going to have to try this out! It looks a superb port! @Lyric: as -=[ViPeR1973]=- has said, you'll need to patch those files, but you should also run DeskHack so that the theme will show up properly under Appearance Settings. Zoom7000
How can you port MSSTYLES into Vista? Is there a program that will allow you to do it? I wish TGT Soft would release a Stylebuilder for Vista! Guest
Hmm.. I really dislike how there's no Aero. It just feels wrong when I minimise/maximise stuff now. But I feel like a change so cheers for sharing (Y). That wasn't the problem that I was having...I am currently using a different theme atm that I copied into the C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes folder, its that this download didnt come with a .theme file....it only comes with the Visual style file / shell folder. Most of the other themes I have you place a theme file (.msstyles) outside of the named VS folder and it works. Nothing is showing up under Appearance settings for Luna Element Black. Have you tried installing DeskHack 1.1 ? Then the style is showing up under its own name in Appearance.. The WE Black doesn't come with a .theme file so can not see it in the themes. Only under Desktop Appeareance and Color. Under C:\Windows\Resources\Themes you mus add a WE Black folder and in that folder you have to place the .msstyles file Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/715028-luna-element-v51-vista-port/#findComment-590389304 Share on other sites

satukoro
Wow that's gorgeous, I want one for Aero Well, I've been looking into porting them to Aero. The first ones to be ported to Aero will probably be Luna, Royale, Le v5, and Le Black. Note the 'probably'. satukoro
The WinXP ports I make are not meant to be applied in Aero. There's a reason that you can only select basic. A number of things don't show up correctly (ie: start menu, caption buttons, etc). zefyx
Thanks author! FYI. I'm using Luna Element 5.1 with Aero (Vista SP2 x86) via the Tune-Up Utilities "workaround" & I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary, it looks great! But, an officially supported & packaged Luna Element for Aero would be a definite godsend. zefyx
Actually, I take that back. When I started a game full screen & came back into Windows I was greeted with something that looks like this.. I see the author hasn't posted in here since January, any chances we could get a Luna port satukoro? Jamushroom Veteran Posted July 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted July 20, 2009 The Luna Element ports are meant to be used without Aero. Satukoro can't make a Luna Element which makes full use of Aero since that means he has to make a new Luna Element. The only person who'll do that is em3, since he's the artist from the whole series. satukoro
Actually, having found a decent way to port to Aero, I plan on reporting my favorite themes. Also, you're incorrect, I won't have to recreate anything, just accommodate what has already been created. In short, I'll be porting: Luna ( Blue, Metallic, Olive ) Luna Elements 5.1 ( Blue/Black ) Royale ( Blue, Noir, Zune ) and Ambient ( mainly because my first attempt was a bit lacking ) After these are ported, I'll ask which themes people want ported most.
