Inctye
? Is Your Decaf Really Decaf?Studies have shown that up to 30% of decaf coffees ordered at coffee houses and restaurants contain unacceptably high levels of caffeine, or are not decaf at all. The D+caf? Test Strip is a unique new product that quickly and easily determines whether your coffee or tea is really decaf. Quick and simple to use, with lab accurate results - simply contact the test strip to the beverage sample and view results. ? Watch the full demo-Source I don't really understand the point of decaf to begin with. Coffee is all about getting a dose of caffeine to keep you sharp for a few hours. For that reason, I only drink coffee once in a while if I really need something to keep me up late night for finishing some work or studying for exams. Jimmy0
I have to say, some people who expect decaf where I work will certainly not be getting it, because I sometimes fill the machine up with the normal beans instead of decaf. D. S. Veteran Posted December 30, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2008 If you're doing that kind of prank, just go all the way and fill it with meth. Some people don't tolerate caffeine very well. Some are just snobs. You never know... zivan56
You do know some people have intollerances and reactions to caffeine? Well done! You know that most decaf coffee, contains a significant amount of caffeine (~10%)...right? I don't see the point of drinking decaf whatsoever, it's like drinking non-alcoholic beer. Awesome  I drink coffee to keep me going through the day and wake me up in the morning, which is all thanks to caffeine - Remove that and all you got left is ... murky water?! Drink anything else then?! gigapixels Veteran Posted December 30, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2008 Caffeine doesn't do a thing to me. Nor do any energy drinks. It kind of sucks, to be honest. If I want help staying up late to work on something I've got to rely on my own willpower  Back on topic: I'm not sure why coffee shops would risk any problems with customers by not giving decaf when it is asked for. You are better off drinking orange juice instead. a) I drink a lot of coffee and don't want to overdo my caffeine intake.b) I like the taste of coffee. c) It makes a change from drinking water all day. Same for low-alcoholic beer. See this is what I don't understand well. A lot of people make it a habit to drink a few cups of coffee a day and don't realize that it is not healthy at all. Someone is better off taking just one strong cup of coffee with a lot of caffeine to last most of the day than drinking multiple cups with smaller doses. Drinking a lot tea is a different story as there are health benefits. Like taste of coffee? The taste mainly comes from adding a few bags of sugar and few tablespoons of cream. Take that out, you got a really bitter cup of hot water. I can think of a lot of stuff that takes better. There's some links to consumption of caffeine preventing alzhemimers and other similar degenerative disease. And its hardly unhealthily ... if it keeps you off the streets! Its keeping me and my coworkers employed (awake and productive)!
