24" Vs 2x20"

Recommended Posts

I would disagee with everyone and say get a 24 inch, and a 20 inch. I know it wasn't an option but for me having the 24 inch on one side and then turn the 20 inch horizontal is perfect for editing documents, email, etc.

If that doesn't suit you a single 24 will do just fine, just make sure you have a video card that can push it. Laptop integrated won't work.

ofc its for my new computer.

i can't afford more than 24" or 2x 20", no need to offer other stuff. its out of the table.

Will you have a specific use for the dual screens? I like being able to drop all my MSN conversations on to the second monitor, or for when I'm making websites, being able to have Photoshop on one monitor and my browser/notepad on the other is a big time saver.

Unless you can think of situations where a second screen will be beneficial, just take the single screen, and I'd guess that for school work and similar the only thing you'd really use it for is to drop MSN conversations (or your IM of choice) on to it, really. 24" sounds like a better choice for you.

i am making a new project now, a big site, but im not sure it's worth the sacrifice on other things.

btw, does 4850/4870 support dual monitors? and if yes, what monitors am i getting?

i decided that i think im going dual monitors. now, i think im getting 4850, when ill be playing, i will just shut down one monitor i guess, 20" is great enough, im using 15.4 inch, anything will look huge.

so dual monitors, if im using the 4850 or 4870, what monitors and cables and adapters will i need?

It depends on the sort of work you do. For a long time I strongly preferred a single large display. Recently at work I managed to get my hands on a spare 19" LCD to compliment my existing 22" display and IMMEDIATELY I'm finding it enormously useful having an extra display, as I often have many windows open at a time and want to quickly switch between tasks.

So I guess if you don't tend to have many apps open, or will primarily be playing games I'd say a single large screen. If you do a lot of multitasking, app switching, etc then you will find value in two displays!

How is that monitor? I heard it's incredibly difficult to set up?

I thought the colors and text sharpness was great with the 223BW...but this 2433 is Out-Standing...the displays of the 21 luminance level steps was great with no banding what so ever. The only set-up issue is the stand...its inserted into a rubber gromlet and some needed to use a little water or vaseline to coat before inserting...that is the main complaint posted on newegg.com comments.

Most of the time i wont be playing on it, now what 20"'ers? iwas thinking about the 2053BW

yeah, that would be like using 600x800 on a 17" screen. lol, you must have blob of icons.

please, recommend me some screens (preferably from common company's)

Samsung Syncmaster T240.

For a TN panel, it's the best I've come across. Beautiful design as well, something you don't see very often with displays.

I run 3 screens 22", and 2x19" on sides.

Right = email, msn, my game realtime watching

Center = current work or game etc

Left = mostly notes, TV etc.

Not bragging (or I'd list my comp in signature) just twelling you how usefull it is., imagine being in-game seeing email popup etc.

Saves alot time switching quick glance so much easier.

I recommend 2x20" everytime.

"sorry for the bad image quality..did a quickie take"...but this is my new 24" 2433BW set at resolution 1680x1050 and using it for now and not 1920x1200

Icons on the Desktop (1680x1050) no 'Blob' of Icons...space and proportioned

desktopiconsnb1.jpg

the monitor's scaling is superb......(thats NO bleeding on the left side..its the camera flash...no dead pixels also)

Edited by jwjw1

I had Samsung Pebble but it had 2 dead pixels so sent back after 2 days but in those 2 dauys the duast drove me crazy on shiny surround.

Now all mine LG and I'm happier then when had my expensive back 5 years ago Iiyama ?550 for 17" ouch.

Edit: Yes 20" at 1680 will look sharper as its smaller then 22" but its splitting hairs.

Example: Play what looks bad movie on PC screen on a Iupod or similar it looks sharp as hell. Why? Your compressing detail. Same image on 42" TV looks worse then on 32" for same reason, but you still buy 42"!

From what I have seen, yes. I find that on most 22-inch displays at 1680x1050 that text and the overall picture quality isn't as sharp compared to a 20-inch display at 1680x1050.

I would sooner have 1680x1050 on a 22? rather than a 20? with that resolution.

I personally find things look too small at that resolution on a 20? screen, that?s just my preference I know a lot of people will disagree.

I used to have 1680x1050 on my previous laptop's 15.4" screen and I found it to be fantastic.

Matan, I recently got the Samsung T220P, cost me about 1300 shekel. it's awesome.

22", 1920x1200 resolution, but if you really wanna kick it, go for a 24".

or maybe a 24" Apple Cinema Display :)

anyway, dual is a waste.

nvm the last line of you can read it, but im assuming you never tried dual screen's too, for my uses, i don't want 22" or 24", i want 2 20"'s and im thinking of buying one now and one further maybe,

BUT WHAT SCREENS! thats my question here

i want 2x20, 2x20,2x20 BUT WHAT FRIGGIN SKREENZ

    • I have a older F4-210 NAS, it is pretty basic, the CPU is not the fastest by a long way and only 1GB of ram, but it works fine. I don't understand the need for A.I in a NAS. It seems like A.i is being shoved into everything, if we like it or not. i will stick to my old Terramsater NAS, thankfully the OS is not being updated. Also, got myself a small NAs built using a Raspberry Pi 5. iy usesd less energy, so stays on all the time. As for the unit above, if it is as reliable as my old Terramaster Nas, then it will be a good unit.
    • Gemini in Google Sheets can now help you debug and fix formula errors by David Uzondu Google has started rolling out an update to Gemini in Google Sheets that allows the AI to diagnose and fix formula errors in one click, as long as your Workspace admin has Gemini for Workspace in Sheets turned on. According to Google, the new feature can handle pretty much everything from basic arithmetic to very complex calculations. This ability to debug formula errors comes about two years after Google introduced basic formula generation with Gemini in Sheets. To create a formula with Gemini in Sheets, you open a spreadsheet on your computer and click Ask Gemini in the top right corner. You can also enter an equals sign in any cell and use a shortcut like Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows and Chrome OS, or Command + Ctrl + G on macOS. Once you open the side panel, you write a natural language prompt using your sheet references. For example, you can ask Gemini to divide goals by games, or to find cell C1 in range D:G. If for some reason, the formula Gemini generated doesn't work, or maybe you wrote the formula yourself, you can troubleshoot the issue directly inside the grid. When a cell shows an error message, you hover over it and click "Fix". This action opens the side panel where Gemini analyzes the data structure and automatically applies the fixes when they are ready. You can cancel the process at any time by clicking stop in the side panel. Image via Google Google has been pushing its Gemini integration in Google Sheets for a while now, steadily moving AI features from side panels directly into user spreadsheets. Last year, the Mountain View giant shipped an =AI() Function in Sheets that allowed users to run translation and text generation directly inside cells instead of using the side panel interface. Earlier this year, the company announced that Gemini in Sheets had reached near-human expert performance, achieving a 70.48% success rate on the SpreadsheetBench dataset.
    • I get what you are saying, If i go onto the Instagram site, it says log in with Facebook, but they are not allowed to link my account with Instagram until I do that. Maybe in the U.S, they can link them, but Privacy is not a thing in the U.S. the way things are going,l won;t be any better in the U.K.

    • Exactly, this is just the beginning. I hope that by that time, our inept politicians devise something like a Universal Basic Income, because unemployment and poverty rates will skyrocket otherwise. And believe me, robots that perform physical work aren't a matter of IF, but WHEN. No career is truly safe from AI/robots, it's just a matter of time.
