24" Vs 2x20"

Recommended Posts

It seems to be a pretty even argument at this point haha.

Dual screen is extremely beneficial in many ways. It drastically improves productivity and multitasking performance combined with incredible convenience that a single screen simply cannot hope to match regardless of size.

A large monitor improves user experience (Excluding multitasking performance) due to large surface area and potentially high resolution that a dual monitor setup isn't necessarily a better choice in this regard.

Personally I would go for a 24" monitor first, and then add a second one when the time comes and you got the cash. I've had smaller monitors before and, long story, but now I have a Dell 2408WFP and Dell 2007FP placed beside each other for combined resolution of 3520x1200 (1920x1200 + 1600x1200) and it's amazing. If I had to choose between two 2007FPs or one 2408WFP, it would be a hard choice, but I will go for the latter.

Go for a 24". :)

Most of the time i wont be playing on it, now what 20"'ers? iwas thinking about the 2053BW

I have a 2053BW beside me as well hooked up to my spare computers. It looks decent and the display isn't bad for a TN, but in the end it's still the better out of the worst. :p I paid $139.99 CAD for it so I can live with it :p

chco, im not sure its worth it, 4" more for an T240, two times the cash. and the t240 is pretty ugly too with its bottom plasticish crap.

In most part you get what pay for. Decide size which you have then go to highest budget you like look of.

I try pop in PC world etc to look then buy online.

If going buy now then later make sure you gt same model number or differences in colour, contrast etc will drive crazy.

First off, the 4850 - I got one recently (Asus) and it has 2 DVI and 1 SPDIF port on it, so you may need VGA->DVI converters on it if your monitors are VGA. Cables should all come with either the monitors or the card. The card will probably come with one VGA->DVI converter.

Well if you want quality on your 20" screens, take a pair of Dells. They're about as well built as you could want and look quite nice, to boot.

Samsungs have been quite popular recently (Pebble) but I've heard a LOT of people saying they've had dead pixels on arrival.

Personally I have an Asus P203w, which is a very nice monitor. You may not be able to find them easily though, I can't find another. Amazon has the P223w here for ?144 a pop though. Only gripe I have is the screen is shiny which is occasionally annoying, but not too much of a problem really.

    • A gatekeeper is basically a company that is used by so many other (businesses) that sudden changes could impact the other business might fail. Like for example, say a car show room uses AWS to it's database, as gatekeepers amazon wouldn't really be expected to just change it's terms of conditions that would rug pull the database from the car show's business leaving them in the dark.
