A monopoly by itself is not inherently illegal, at least not in the US. Abusing your position as a monopoly is what can and will get you into trouble.

Sigh... It appears we have hit peak features like 3-5 years ago. I'm not sure that the sorts of features mentioned in the article are even worth mentioning.
