cammy
Hey guys, yesterday i got an iphone for free, i had read in the past about jailbreaking and also i had read a bit about the dev team and yell0w sn0w. So equipped with all the right software and tutorials i was all set to jailbreak, install cydia and then yellow snow so i could use my vodafone sim. But EVERY single time i try to run either winpwn or quickpwm (latest versions) they wont start, vista says they aint working and the good old problem solution crap, ive tried emulating windows xp and running as adming and both wont work. The only solution i can think of is to try doing all of this on windows xp I am currently running 64 bit vista, all updated with latest .net framework etc. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/717358-quickpwn-and-winpwn-not-working/ Share on other sites

I followed all the tuts, activated my phone using the 02 sim, then once in itunes restore etc. Its the actual apps that wont open, they dont even run for a second they just crash instantly. That's really strange. I had something similar happen, but it turned out it was because I was running Vista on a MacBook - sorted it out after running the tools on a desktop PC under Vista. I have no idea if it was the MacBook hardware or not. If you have access to another computer I would try that. Other then that I'm not sure what else. Do you have UAC enabled/disabled? Rob Veteran Posted January 5, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 5, 2009 Interesting - I develop QuickPwn for Windows and I can confirm it does work on 64-bit Vista normally. Can you give me a screenshot of the error? Incidentally, WinPwn hasn't been updated for a while and so won't work with recent firmware releases - QuickPwn is your best bet. It requires the .NET Framework 2.0 (inc. with Vista) and the latest iTunes to be installed. But yes, a screenshot of the error would be good.
