New monitor

Recommended Posts

I currently have an asus 24" inch monitor that only has a native res of 1680x1050

I want a new 24" that can go higher and look even sharper!!!

1680x1050 is not exactly a high res and I want a monitor with an even higher one!

Should I? I'm not sure if it will even be any better so that's why I'm asking. I see people with 24" monitor's

that can go to like 1980x1200 or something like that. Wouldn't that look like waaaay sharper???

Thanks in advance

As long as it's in a 16:9 resolution, it's an improvement. I've got a 22" monitor that came with my knackered PC that goes up to 1680x1050, which is 16:10. That's not proper widescreen, which is a bit annoying. I've got the same situation with my laptop. 15", 1440x900, 16:10 again. :(

What's it like using a 24" monitor for everyday tasks? Get a bit much? I'm considering getting one (1920x2000).

It's awesome :p Just the right size imo. 30" is too big for me and too expensive. Right now I have a 24" Dell 2408WFP @ 1920x1200 and 20" Dell 2007FP @ 1600x1200. Combined resolution 3520x1200. Best setup I've ever had and I don't plan to upgrade anytime soon.

They're both beautiful S-PVA calibrated panels that offers great viewing angles and color accuracy and saturation.

By the way to the OP if you're after visual experience, I would highly recommend the Dell 2408WFP. Don't jump on those cheap TN panels. I have them around but definitely not what I would use on a daily basis; only for spare computers.

well beat me to it  guess i'll say it anyway

There is no 24" lcd monitor at 1680x1050 (that i could find anyway)

the standard resolution for 22" lcd's are 1680x1050 and theres even a few pushing 1920x1200 it just seems pointless for them to have a 24" at 1680x1050 as the quality would begin to suffer

^ Note just my oppinion :)

you should totally smash the monitor over his head and demand a refund ^_^

seriously though thats messed up who was the guy? should of checked the model # out on the monitor to see what kind of specs it has that would of shown it :p

I never even knew about it the whole time that he was telling me that he got me this really awesome 24" monitor

i started to get suspicious when I saw it could only get to 1680x1050, but then he told me that was a really high res

I tried to call him today and hes not answering so Im gunna keep trying

I got this guy through my uncle who also said he was very good. He built my uncles PC about 5 years ago and it had core 2 duo's at 1.6

So I thought he seemed genuine. I'll take your idea though and smash the monitor over his head.

AND TEHN IMA NOT CALL AMUBELNZES AND HE R DIES LAAWWWLLL

Seriously...

    • Exactly. They won't go 100 because current gen consoles are simply too old for any groundbreaking graphics or gaming experience otherwise. They will go with standard (console) price 70 or go with 80 if they really want to go premium. Of course they will have more expensive options too with some useless cosmetics as always.

    • I would never install install this build before rtm process. only 3 months to go. never install on your daily devices. just wait 3 months.
