[Official] Skate 2 - released!

Recommended Posts

Nope, I got the 'ending screen' still a few team vids to finish and one bonus death race and a few spots to find other than that. Yeah the main story line resulting in you owning another skate park is over.

Dam I haven't even bought the game yet :(

Hopefully within the next few hours I'll have it.

Sorry DM and Spookie if you played. My dreams of playing last night were dashed by my wife actually staying up past midnight for the first time since I can remember.

I should be on at various times throughout the day today, and then definitely tonight my time for sure.

I without a doubt will be playing the Career for awhile though just to try and get better at this damn game, but I will definitely be into some online play as well.

IF all goes well today, I should have this by tonight (fingers crossed).

I have to be in 2 places at once at 2PM, BUT, I get my car/truck back at 2, which will make going out and buying the game that much easier later on today.

Let me know when you go on.

So anyone have any tips for how to get high scores when doing just street tricks?

Specifically, I have to do a OTS where I need to get 1200 points on winding steps, and pretty much the only way down is on a ledge that curves, leaving me to do only grinds more or less. I just cannot get the simple 1200 points and it is really starting to annoy me.

When I can, I will put the exact name of the OTS, but just wondering if anyone has any tips for better scores when dealing with almost just street.

Also, hoping to maybe play this in about two hours give or take an hour each way. Not 100% sure but we will see. I did sign on before for a bit just to do career, and it said I could not connect to EA Nation, but maybe it will work later.

Yes please...I'm having the same problem.

So no help or tips for those of us struggling with street skating?

The only tip I have is to flip whilst griding, as you will get points for the flip and the rotation in the flip. You will often land a diffrent grind too, like my first (rather crap) Video Shows. :)

The bit I am struggling with is the Chris Haslam cahllenge as I din't know how to fingerflip.

Thanks man. Yep, I throw in as many flips as I can, and still no luck getting good score.

AND US TOO!!!! We cannot figure out for the life of us how to do a Finger Flip!!!

I am all cool with being vague about the controls and letting people figure them out themselves, but honestly this game needs them...

I sent Munky and habnad a PM of an image I found that lists all of the move from Skate 1, I am at work or would be able to find the link for you...

If either of them reads this, and still has the PM, can you post the link to that image with all of Skate 1's moves? A decent amount of them have changed, but some of them are definitely still the same...

Sorry, I would have replied sooner but I've been out all weekend with a new girlfriend. :p

Do a tre flip/360 hard flip/etc and spin as much as possible then land in a difficult grind (that'd be a tail/nose/blunt) and then as you exit try to do another difficult flip and spin as hard as you can. It will look silly, it won't look realistic but it'll net the most possible points you can grab. I'll try and upload a skate reel later if it behaves at last.

The full list of tricks is located in the pause menu, they come with little videos too. :)

On a happier note HAHA I DID IT! I COMPLETED THE GIRL CHALLENGE! So I've done everything bar the skate challenges with the pros (which shouldn't be a challenge since you can easily do 540's down some of the gaps).

Nice, thanks for the tips. Will try them later today for sure.

Oh, reason we want a list for the tricks, is I know they are in the pause menu, but they are not there when you do the CoOp free skate, and we needed some of the tricks to complete challenges, hence why a nice list to refer to either printed out or on my laptop is sweet.

Ah right wasn't aware of that, just had a quick bash online and by christ. The survival ones are nigh impossible. Me and duff have managed to clear the rest of them though! :p

Try running through the Challenges (i think its the Stadium/Arena) and "The Big List" of goals.

3 and 4 of us last night were one or 2 off...wow was that getting annoying.

I downloaded and played the demo, it was all right.

The walking mechanic was pretty poor, which you think in this day and age would be better, and the custom character creator is really bad, maybe I was missing something but no matter what I changed he came out looking like some man from the stone age.

Nope, the CC is just really bad, way stripped down from the last game, which really does not make sense to me, that the first game had a better character creator than the second?

I can usually create myself in even the lowest CC pretty damn quick and it always comes close to looking like me. In this game, I cannot get it to look like me AT ALL. Just wish I could use my character from the first one, as it looked just like me for sure.

Bald with a beard?

Can't be that hard surely. :p

But this happened with one of the tony hawks didn't it? they for some unknown reason made the creator pretty crap and somewhat useless?

I remember back on Tony Hawk 4 I think it was, we would make all sorts of odd characters from films and other games, ah well.

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.
