San Disk USB Drives

Recommended Posts

My very first USB drive was one of the early Sony Microvaults. After having it replaced by the store about three times for breaking in the same manner all three times, they let me trade it for a standard SanDisk Cruzer.

Since then I have owned six SanDisk USB drives and only one has ever failed on me (of the six, the four that I still have, still work); in that case, SanDisk sent me a new one, no questions asked, and the new one still works fine more than three years later (SanDisk USB drives come with 1 or 3 year warranties depending on the model you buy). The very first one I got started cracking around the case about three or four years ago but it still works six or more years after I bought it.

My first three were standard Cruzers (two 256mb and one 512mb), my fourth was a 512mb Cruzer Titanium that I bought three or four years ago (that's the one that was replaced), my fifth was a 1gb Cruzer Mini which I bought one and a half to 2 years ago, and most recently I bougt a 4gb Cruzer Titanium about six months to a year ago (which is the one I currently carry around with me).

I've had at least three of them, including at least two of the less durable (relatively speaking, because they are all incredibly durable), non-titanium models go through the wash (some of them multiple times), and after drying out they still work. I certainly wouldn't reccomend doing that on purpose, but it speaks to their durability.

Bottom line, when it comes to USB Drives I am a loyal SanDisk customer because their drives are durable, they fully back their products, and they pretty much never fail.

I have owned 4 SanDisk USB drives so far, 3 Titanium and one normal cruzer.

All have served me well, they are speedy and the capless design is great.

The build quality of the Titanium drives is top notch, they have a good solid feel and can take a lot of punishment

The non-Titanium model lack the solid feel, just dosent compare at all, to be fair to it its still in one piece with no damage so its not completely cheep

I would say the build quality of the Titanium models more than makes up for the price difference.

I am currently waiting on my new 16GB Titanium Cruzer being delivered.

I actually have a Sandisk Micro Cruizer 256mb (I got a good deal on it 6$ with tax) I bought it over 2 years ago and it still runs like a champ- Windows 98 machines are the only ones that it have ever given a hassle about = They have to download a driver from the web... Even Linux Installs Find it with no issues.

Though I have thought about getting a 8gig one from them. They have it at Walmart for 19$.

I have a 2GB Sandisk Cruzer Titanium as well. It's been great over the 2 years or so I've had it. The back of the case is loosening up a bit but still not coming apart. I can't really blade that on anybody but me though. I have it on a carabiner with my keys and they sometimes come out when I'm pulling the wad out of my pocket. Well, didn't notice I dropped it till I got to my motorcycle, but then a few cars ran over it. I'm quite impressed that really nothing happened to it (didn't even scratch that badly).

Wow haha that's crazy that it could stand up to cars running it over!

    • I would recommend the Nothing 2a. The battery life is awesome, 2 or 3 days without going into battery power mode. The only thing that I've been looking into recently is that it doesn't "support" Graphene OS. I'm pretty sure there is a way, I just need to do some more looking.
    • You'd have to show me an example of a listing that says Gen 1, usually i'd expect that to mean Snapdragon Gen 1 (a type of chipset, which the Pixels don't use). Pixel 7 - White - 128gb - Unlocked - 85%+ battery - Grade B+ - $159 with free delivery - https://www.ebay.com/itm/398046617206 Pixel 7 - Obsidian - 128gb - Unlocked - 80%+ battery - Very Good - $157 with free delivery - https://www.ebay.com/itm/355617734563 Both look to be sold by companies with good feedback, dealing with refurbished phones and state the phones are unlocked with a clean IMEI. Obviously I can't vouch for either company though, but the listings look good in my opinion.
    • Because Chrome is doing it. And no one said anyone had to update immediately. That's silly. They could update every day for all I care as long as it's fast, and the next time the browser restarts, you're good. And the basic point is not to tee it up for bigger updates. As it is right now, all the windows I had open reopen anyway except inprivate.
    • Why? Does anybody actually want this? The constant need to close all browser sessions and wait for a new version to install, just so that there’s a integrated coupon manager feels like a waste of everyone’s time
    • I remember when Louis used to just do interesting Mac/iPhone repairs, now he's boring and just launches "crusades" every week
