iTunes is driving me bloody NUTS!

Recommended Posts

Right, I have just restored my MacBook enabled filevault, and done my updates.

I have loaded this new version of iTunes, and gone to slap on an album of Pendulum, it of course takes it from the cd just fine, however for some unknown reason a few tracks have their own album art, and when you view the layout by album art, it looks wrong. Purely because their is 6 pieces of artwork, which for some unknown reason iTunes has decided will not by any means known by myself allow me to sync all the tracks as one album.

I have tried "get info" and setting album, genre and artist to the correct album titles, and nothing has helped. So before I drag iTunes to the bin and use Foobar or something to play my music can someone PLEASE tell me where I am going wrong.

Can you edit the tags? Maybe rename them all the same Album.

How would I go about that?

In the "get info" section I have tried the Artist, Album and Genre.. nothing makes them align into a single album.

Edit: Just tried manually editing the single files, instead of a group edit, that seems to be working. Perhaps a bug in group editing?

Group edit and then tick the box and mark as part of a compilation. One or more tracks probably included other artist names, or something stupid like that.

forget compilations, they are a mess to deal with afterwards! what you really wanna do is select all the files and dit their tags together. If the album, album artist and artist fields don't fix your issue, click on the "sorting options" tabs and edit it there. That options has NEVER failed me.
