9800GT or 4830 ?

9800GT or the new 4830 from ATi ?

Just wanted to be sure that my brother gets the best performance for the money .. interested also in low power consumption . Thanks for advice .

I would say 9800GT but I'm not too sure on this one as I haven't seen many 4830 vs 9800GT benchmarks.

Which ever is cheapest they are both as good as each other.

Crysis is where the 9800GT is at its best and high resolution is best with the HD 4830 in most games.

yup,i think its just the gpu is 55nm rather than 65nm? not sure anyway 8800GT is cheap nowdays,you can pick one up less than ?100.

if you compare them both on gpureview.com they give the same benchmarks.

What i know - is that when i bought my 9800gtx it was $180 CAD in july, 2008.

And not only is it cheaper than 8800gtx (about 2x cheaper), it has an improved fan:DD

cannot find decent brands for 8800GT (leadtek) .. I know 9800GT is almost the same as 8800GT .. probably a bit colder' .. for 4830 I've chosen sapphire which seems good enought even on powerconsumption compared to nvidia rivals.

i highly reccomend Asus if you getting a GT,it has glaciator cooler and its fantastic.
