Students - Do you keep your old schoolwork?

No. I throw out all of my notebooks. I will sometimes keep useful books (e.g. I have one good book on Java, Perl, C++, circuitry, etc.). However, I always back up the work that I turn in that I did on my computer. I have backups 7-zipped and labeled by semester for each semester's work.

I keep it for about a month or until the quarter ends then I throw it out, hoping that I won't need it in the future.

I have kept all of my university work, it's fairly well organised. I occasionally need to refer back to it, even if it's just to assist the first years when I'm demonstrating.

Stuff from before that, I'm not sure. My school notebooks were gleefully burned but my sixth form college work might still be festering in my parents' loft.

I keep digital files, that's it. Anything else just takes up too much space
