Anyone know if the complete firefly series on BD listed above is region free? I don't want to order it with shipping here to the UK only to find out it is DRM'd ... Stupid BD, HD-DVD should have won :(

For that matter anyone know where to get it from in the UK at all? Just to save my costs :)

Woo! Finally Rappy. Catching up with some Firefly :) Miss it :( and if Chuck is gone to, I'll be sad. Adam Baldwin's characters always get me laughing.

Yep it's about time eh! and it was a great episode to restart with :p

On the second last episode, I have no idea why this show got canned...

edit: It's funny how bad those DVD screencaps look compared to Blu Ray Rappy! I am HD spoiled, I can't bring myself to watch anything in SD now :(

Thata boy, it commends a spot on in my BluRay collection, next to Dexter :) I liked Firefly better than Serenity. While it was nice and more polished, I liked the series much more, and yes Christina Hendricks has very lovely eyes.

I know how you feel Audioboxer. I can't stand SD now with HD everywhere. While I never really cared before, with HD so common now I groan when something is only available in SD, like 24 for example. No BluRay releases for any season (yet) rather annoying..

firefly to maybe return...one day?

What does Dollhouse's second season have to do with Firefly? According to TV By The Numbers, more than you may expect. And, if you follow their logic, it may even mean that we could see new Firefly on our screens.

Saying that the continued success of Firefly on DVD is likely one reason behind Fox's surprise renewal of Dollhouse, the site's Nick C writes,

I think from my talks with the people running FOX that they would bring [Firefly] back under the right circumstances. However, you must understand that right now Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, and Alan Tudyk (plus he was killed in SERENITY) all have gigs for the foreseeable future. However don't underestimate the power of a movie. FOX could likely be easily talked into a Movie or two for next season. They could air after an NFL game or playoff game. The movies would easily sell on DVD.

The question now falls into rights, but the guys at FOX wouldn't be alone. If Universal is now in possession of future rights to projects, NBC or USA wouldn't mind getting in on the cash opportunity either. A couple movies shot and made for TV and then released on DVD would be profitable for anyone involved. At the same time the cast would still be able to keep doing their normal gigs. Just shoot the movie around their schedules.

Does this mean it's likely? Not really, unless Joss Whedon or somebody else at Mutant Enemy suddenly decides that it's a good idea - and, to be honest, I'd be surprised that this avenue hasn't been explored before by those who wanted the series to continue in the first place. But, then again, I don't have sources at Fox, so there's every possibility that they are ready for some more flights of the Serenity... and if they could work out schedules, a million browncoats might finally be willing to forgive and forget.

    • Salesforce to acquire Fin, formerly Intercom, for over $3 billion by David Uzondu Image via DepositPhotos.com Salesforce today announced that it has reached an agreement with customer support software company Fin to buy the company for around $3.6 billion. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, and the acquisition will not change its financial guidance previously announced on May 27. Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, in its press release, claimed that acquiring the startup gives Salesforce an immediate AI agent that resolves support tickets across email, WhatsApp, SMS, and Slack: You might know Fin by its former name, Intercom. If you have ever been on a website or inside a mobile app and noticed a little chat bubble widget floating in the bottom right corner of your screen, often featuring a friendly face and a message like, "Hi! How can we help you today?" you were almost certainly looking at Intercom. Intercom became Fin just last month, transforming itself into an "AI-first" platform that handles customer issues with little need for humans to intervene. The new name originates from the company's highly successful AI customer service agent, which it launched way back in 2023. This digital assistant supposedly resolves about 76% of customer service volume end-to-end on its own, so the business rebranded to match its primary software tool. Fin's new owners, Salesforce, went on an acquisition spree over the last few years, and some of them you might recognize, like its 2020 $27.7 Billion acquisition of Slack. The last few months saw the enterprise giant buy several startups, including m3ter, Momentum, Cimulate, and Contentful. Salesforce said that when the Fin deal pulls through, customers will "deploy AI agents across" various service operations, which will complement Agentforce, the platform that enables businesses to deploy customizable autonomous digital workers.
