SuperPI 1M *Top Times Database*

Recommended Posts

*Sticky Please?* :D

Times will be grouped based upon 1 second intervals.

This is to keep track of the fastest SuperPi 1M runs on Neowin.net! First of all you will need: SuperPI Mod v1.5 - Straight from Techpowerup....I didn't scan this file, so download at your own risk & scan it...I am not responsible if your computer wrecks havoc among the world after downloading this program

Next you just need a screen shot with your SuperPi Mod 1.5 time (showing the PI Calc done dialogue box - with the "OK" visible), CPU-Z CPU & Memory Tab. All on the same screen shot for it to be counted as legit.

NOTES/RULES:

? You can post your fastest time for each Processor you own. Updates on the same Processor will take the place of the old submission.

? You need a screenshot with your SuperPI Mod 1.5 time (showing PI Calc done dialogue box - with the "OK" visible), CPU-z CPU Tabrequired- CPU-z Memory taboptionalAll on the same screen shot for it to be counted as legit.

? Your overclock does not have to be Prime95 stable, or anything of that sort...if it can run the 1M SuperPI, it counts.

? When you first startup PI please ensure that you re-size the window to show a clear view of all loops and the final time.

? In the title bar of your post write up the summary of your computer. Example:

Lyric - 10.617s / Gigabyte EP45T-DS3R / E8400 @ 4.5GHz / Patriot DDR3 @ 7-7-7-18 / Zalman 9700 CPU Cooler

? Also include other system specs that maybe helpful to other contestants if they are not listed in your sAny posts that do not follow these rules will not be posted!

? Any posts where screen shots are no longer available for whatever reason will still remain on the score list. But, without a screen shot they will no longer be eligible for the Top 10 Processor lists. If you are currently listed and you notice your screen shot is now missing all of the sudden, make a new post if you still have the screen shot and it will be eligible for the Top 10 section again.

? Please try to host your images on Photobucket, ImageShack or another host to save bandwidth on Neowin as much as possible.

I was running a few processes and programs in the background, so may not be entirely accurate - I should also get overclocking soon! :p

Will update again as soon as I get overclocking (Y)

i'm gonna post mine this weekend when i have more time to OC

if prime95 stability is out the window i'm gonna try to push past 4GHz lol

Go for it! If it can run SuperPI 1mil, then it counts...no need for any other stability for pure benchmarking. :D

Here's my submission. I haven't really tweaked the overclocking yet.

Max? - 11.437s / Gigabyte EX58-UD5 / i920 @ 3.61GHz / Corsair 6GB DDR3 @ 8-8-8-21 / Stock Intel Cooler

EDIT: Removed attachment for bandwidth purposes.

Core i7's can handle temps of 80c. The key is in the thermal compound; MX-2 ftw. Mine is only running at about 55c as well.

My new attempt:

Max? - 10.406s / Gigabyte EX58-UD5 / i920 @ 3.98GHz / Corsair 6GB DDR3 @ 8-8-8-21 / Stock Intel Cooler

edit :

funny just checked the bios

so i enable it too

the temperature improved

but i guess i should get aftermarket cooler afterall ....

thought i'd chip in from the somewhat older school. won't be on the list for long lol.

technikal - 26.531s / Gigabyte 965P-S3 / E6300 @ 2.24GHz / 2GB PC6400 5-5-5-18 / Stock intel

It's all good...you know 65nm can go as high as 1.55v right? just I wouldn't run it 24/7, only for benchies. :D

See if you can oc it a bit and get a better score. =)

i ran my machine @ 2.8GHz for months (at less than default voltage) without any hassle. the only thing with my mobo is that it's a passive cooled FSB so i went down to 2.2GHz to save burning it out faster :p

the machine still does all i want it to do without any problems so i don't really need to push it any further.

How do you get that screen to stay after you perform the stress test? Mine goes back to the default screen right away.

Don't click the "OK" untill you've taken the screen shot...just move it out of the way if its blocking the time, should work fine.

    • Not such a great deal, Ultimate, which gives you full 5080 features is $181.99 CAD per month, that's $2183.88 per year, I can buy the 5080 for $1809.99 CAD, then it goes up to $279.99 per month after the first billing cycle. Typical cloud rental, costs more than buying the hardware.

    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
