[Confused] A question to Led Zeppelin fans

Recommended Posts

Eminem did a song called "Sing For The Moment" on his last album "Eminem Show". The beat he used and some of the lyrics, comes from an older song "Dream On" which is from the rock band Aerosmith.

My friend is arguing with me that this song has been sang first by Led Zeppelin.

I'm SURE that Aerosmith has a song called "Dream On", with the same beat and lyrics.

But did Led Zeppelin sang this song too?

Yeah, go to Kazaa for reliable results...

Dream On

Steven wrote the song when he was only 17 on a Steinway upright piano in the living room of Trow-Rico lodge in Sunapee.

Steven wrote the first verse of the song in Sunapee, and the second at the Logan airport Hilton.

Joe plays Steven's right hand on the piano and Tom plays his left.

Tom woke up morning after morning to the sound of Steven playing this on the piano, which was in Tom's room at 1325.

"It's about dreaming util your dreams come true. It's about the hunger and the desire to be somebody that Aerosmith felt in those days..." (Steven Tyler)

Has Em EVER tried to write a song that doesn't heavily sample other people's music????

It would be funny if he and Will Smith collaborated...they could rip each other off    :x

ANYHOO....seems like Led Zep only covered blues songs....

Both bands have recorded that song, it is an aerosmith original, but Zeppelin covered it on a tribute/benefit/special cd of some sort, a bunch of bands covered one anothers recordings on this cd . . . i have no idea what it's called tho . . . i have a friend who has it tho. Anyway, people that have heard the Zeppelin recording think they recorded it first because they're older then 'smith i geuss, but they wrote the song.

And those of you who went to Kazaa to find a song?? Why? Use google, and the Zeppeling version is on Kazaa, i just downloaded it a good 2 seconds ago.

Eminem sucks anyway . . .

    • hahahahah wow hahahah you sure got me there hahahahahah, you know that bad performance is always due to poor optimization by the developers, right???
    • "I know for a fact I'll never own one of these." This is why choice is better than government regulation. Globaly Android has something like 72% of the smartphone market. Granted the vast majority of that is low end phones. Apple can and should charge whatever they want. The market will decide if it is too much.
    • I dont mind the AI stuff the time its released its going to be super mature. My hope is the AI can optimise or at least work out if things could be and the devs prompted. This would help offset sloppy copy/paste and asset flips resulting is rushed bloated games.
    • its an online game, the better part of it, piracy is not the problem. If that was so, it wouldnt release 1 year after for PCs, the piracy will be there Its probably some contract with the console brands
