Johnny4003
According to my firewall, an IP that seems too be from microsoft uses all my bandwidth (UP&DOWN) through msn messenger. I tried disabling windows updates, but the same thing happens. What could that be? Bgnn32
Perhaps it is MSN Messenger. Just a shot in the dark there. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/731754-something-using-all-my-bandwidth/#findComment-590533590 Share on other sites
Johnny4003
Yes, it says that msn messenger has a connection with that ip that uses all my upload and download bandwidth... shihchiun
How much bandwidth are we talking? It seems unlikely that MSN Messenger would be using lots of bandwidth (+20 kilobytes/second) for no reason. Bgnn32
Yes, it says that msn messenger has a connection with that ip that uses all my upload and download bandwidth... So then why are you asking what is using your bandwidth? You answered your own question when you asked it. Kill msn messenger and you will be all set. IDK why you turned off windows updates. Aldur82
I noticed Admiral Michael's question wasn't answered...and seems the most likely cause. Do you use the Share Folder feature of MSN Messenger? And is it MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger? Seeing as MSN messenger has been discontinued for quite a while. Well lets see, you say you know what program is eating your bandwidth, but the you turn off something completely different and you are surprised that the problem didn't go away?
