16:9 ftw, they might as well change it while they introduce HD, like the simpsons.

is it appropriate to say "SIMPSONS DID IT!"

I like that cartoons are going 16:9, it makes things look a lot better :) Anime has been doing it for years now, so I don't understand why cartoons here are only now doing it.

If i'm not mistake, South park was the first mainstream show to do an HD episode, "Good Times With Weapons" back in March 2007. I don't think they ever made another HD episode after that

the simpsons may have had the first new episode in HD but Southpark has had an HD episode well before them (when they released that episode from season 8 in HD a few years ago or so on XBL)

also they've been airing some older episodes (newer seasons) in HD for the past few months or so...

so if anything it would be "Southpark did it"

all of the last season was done in hd for the bluray release and has been airing in hd form on comedy central hd
