Watching BBC iPlayer while I'm abroad

Question

Hi chaps,

I want to use the iPlayer while I'm abroad on my laptop, problem is the BBC blocks everything but UK IP's.

I have a BBC licence and obviously a UK broadband connection, is there a way of accessing the iPlayer via my router/IP at home? I already have a connection to my home pc via logmein and the router on dyndns.org

Please let me know if any one knows of a way around this problem :)

proxy wont work as its mainly only used for web based ports and not streaming.

A solution you can use is VPN.

You can setup a vpn server at your UK computer and then have your computer thats out of the UK connect to the UK VPN.

Most routers have this option to be enabled.

Depends on your upload speed in the UK, so more than likely its best to use an enterprise vpn solution.

Another solution you can try is the post in this forum

Good luck :)
