I'm not sure i'd recommend the latest gsdx(1426) myself. When i try it it gives me an error message on app startup and no longer appears in the config dropdown. Previous version works fine. The recent beta of the main app is not much better since save states just hang it.

Is that gsdx the 1.1.15 one? Death would you mind linking me towards that one? Sadly, I have to use an older 1046m modified gsdx because for GOW it removes that weird green fog. I wish I knew how to modify the newer files so I could get the speedboost and the green fog removed!

I wonder if this will play suikoden V? I should fire up a few games.... final fantasy X looks so darned beautiful with the proper graphics plugins and settings it's just stunning... played it through a couple of times in the past, but never any others. Played at a smooth 60FPS 95% of the time with a Q6600 running at 3.6 and 4 GB ram.

Too bad, it does not support Macintosh :hmmm:

True, BUT there was a version of PCSX (considered "good enough", I believe) for Mac OS X made by a fan, and seeing how there's a Linux version I can see the same thing happening again in due time.

Just a shame that "younger me" didn't take better care of his discs - really annoying how some levels of some games have no music/dialogue :/

get the latest gsdx beta plugin , its pretty awesome , GTA VCS is running 55-60 fps for me at ;

Core 2 Quad 2.4GHZ

4Gb RAM

Win 7

9600GT 512mb

My system is similar to yours (even though my CPU is slightly weaker). Have you played any of the following using the PCSX2?

Persona 4

Any Metal Gear Solid game

Yakuza 1 and 2

Ace Combat 5

Works perfectly, I've been playing through it (Y)

I found a post regarding Persona 4 using the emulator on Gamespot forum. It gives me hope. :p

maybe, however you need to check your configuration first

regarding to the topic:

my laptop specs are on the signature

the only games that I have played are Persona 4 and Kingdom Hearts

P4 runs more or less, sometimes I hit fully 60 fps, others 60 fps with frameskip and other it tooks a big nosedive (less than 30 fps, depending on the enemies on screen, damn those shinning enemies ??) however I have finished the game already on the emu, the counter clocking 45 hours =)

Kh is running great so far, usually I have fullspeed 50% of the time and the framerate never goes below 40 (worth to mention that is a PAL version)

hope my experience had helped you

I just got 30 minutes into Persona 4. So far, the game is looking good. Technically, the game is running very smoothly at 60 fps with rare choppy sound that last 1-2 seconds that happened once or twice. Apart from that, everything's working smoothly. :)

Here are some screenshots:

Have you thought about overclocking your i7 at all? Anything above 3ghz helps.

I don't think it's the processor's fault. Dark Cloud 2 still cannot be run properly on 0.9.6. In fact, the GDSX plugin's latest updates try to solve the problems with Dark Cloud 2 if you look at their changelog.

Wasn't aware of that. Regardless, I still think my statement stands concerning above 3ghz usually helps. It would be interesting to see if it had any sort of speedup on his computer.

    • Ninja Theory's new Hellblade game is action-focused and set in Purgatory by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Ninja Thery has been building its award-winning Hellblade series since 2017, delivering Senua's Sacrifice and Senua's Saga since then. Today at the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, the studio had a brand-new installment announcement featuring Senua again, but this time, she is in a version of purgatory, and the focus is on the action. Simply named Senua, this new entry is described as a "full-on action-adventure" experience, delivering an expanded focus on combat, puzzle-solving, and freedom of exploration. The developer says that it is keeping the same high production values and storytelling features of the previous games while giving what players have been asking for in the gameplay department. The entirety of Ninja Theory is now working on Senua, giving the project much more manpower than ever before, while also letting the team draw on its action roots from Devil May Cry and prior titles. However, the studio also confirmed that its previously announced Project Mara horror experience is no longer in development. Alongside snappier traversal moves, Senua will be able to take stealth and direct combat routes. She has access to her own sword, plus any enemy weapons as well, with dual wielding also being an option for most dropped melee swords, axes, and other weapons. Outside of melee combat, Senua will be able to use special abilities that let her alter the reality around her. The world is said to be about twice the size of Hellblade 2. While this won't be an open-world experience, the linear story will let players explore their surroundings further than before. The story of Senua will be set after the events of previous Hellblade titles, with our protagonist being stuck in her own version of Purgatory. The series' well-explored psychosis themes will return as well. "She’s trapped between life and death on a quest to reach the afterlife and be reunited with the ones that she’s loved and lost," adds the studio. "Her belief is that by healing the wounds of her life, she can find the peace that is the key that unlocks the gate to the afterlife." Senua is releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2027.
    • Windows has had it, it's called camera frame server. I recall when it was first introduced in an early Windows 10 release it caused issues and there was a registry entry to disable it. Seems like they disabled it by default at some point. Windows 11 brought that toggle to the settings app (not just registry) a while ago.
    • You didn't like Mafia The Definite Edition? As a fan of the first when it came out, I liked that remake.
