Have you thought about overclocking your i7 at all? Anything above 3ghz helps.

Nah, I haven't tried overclocking. I'm just using the stock cooler and it's already somewhat hot. If I ever get a better cooler I might consider it.

I wasn't aware of the dark cloud issue, thanks Maskedforever.

With that stock cooler I wouldn't even think about overclocking like you said. To go along with what Maskedforever said, if the gsdx's latest plugins don't work, you can always try their latest beta ones as well.

Very impressive they've improved it a lot

before i could get about 5 FPS and the graphics were rather bad (black and a few shades of blue) but now the games brightness just alternates between lighter and darker and i'm yielding around 15 FPS

Game: Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3

Intel Pentium 4 541 Presscott 3.20GHz

Asus En8600GT DDR2

I'm suprised you feel there wasn't much gains on the i7 could you perhaps try with a game that other people have played and reported fps? i'm sure the i7 should yield alot more since the emulator would be highly dependant on the cpu

(wonder if they'll write code to take advantage of cuda or opencl for some of the cpu emulation :D)

I did, I mentioned that Kingdom Hearts was working fine at 1920 x 1080. Full 60fps. I haven't tested anything besides KH and Dark Cloud 2. My DVD drive is causing my computer to freeze for some reason...

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
