NM, its quite obviously fake, lol.

hmm the 4th posting on the somethinginthesea website has that poster in the first post.... gaah i sound confusing, basically its the one which says www.somethinginthesea.com on it.... its as if the internet existed back in 1967??

also, if you click around the southern part of Africa, there is a 'blank' posting, like the rest of the site blurs out and you can hear a piece of paper, but nothing shows up...maybe thats the next location?

Maybe you need to reload the site, there are articles at the south of Africa now.

And this is a alternate time line, maybe there is the interwebs. :p

huh wtf a new pile of papers just got posted on the south part of Africa... im confused...like its got a string attached to the 4th posting... i think it only appeared after i tried the 'trace the hidden dots from southern Ireland' thing or something

::edit:: and no freakin way some website is gonna make me do those voices!!

where are you getting this from?

where are you getting this from?

Supposedly if you trace from England/Ireland towards New York, there's a dot. If you trace south from there, you find another dot. If you're making Little Sister (high pitched) sounds along the way, you're supposed to find a pic that shows there will be Little Daddies and Big Sisters.

It's some bull**** blog post desgined to get hits using bad chops and interweb rumors.

Finishing the game doesn't really reveal anything. The final boss and the ending was somewhat of a disappointment compared to the overarching theme of the game.

The reason I considered this a brilliant game (I never played SS2, don't hate me) is because

1. The details of Objectivism implemented in the story. The pure philosophy of Andrew Ryan and the meaning behind Rapture and why everything went wrong blows my mind. When I was younger, I was a huge fan of Ayn Rand and the book Atlas Shrugged (so awesome they had a character called Atlas in the game). If you are not familiar with Atlas Shrugged, here is a brief explanation from Wikipedia:

The main crux of the book surrounds the decision of the "men of the mind" to go on strike, refusing to contribute their inventions, art, business leadership, scientific research, or new ideas of any kind to the rest of the world. Each man of ability eventually reasons (or is convinced) that society hampers him with unnecessary, burdensome regulations and undervalues his contributions to the world, confiscating the profits and sullying the reputations he has rightfully earned. The peaceful cohesiveness of the world begins to disintegrate as each of these men of ability slowly disappears and society loses those individuals whose mental effort allows it to continue functioning. The strikers believe that they are crucial to a society that exploits them, denying them freedom or failing to acknowledge their right to self-interest, and the gradual collapse of civilization is triggered by their strike.

2. The game doesn't have the best graphics. But the art design put the presentation of the game a step above the rest. Seeing Rapture for the first time was mindblowing, and proved that with good art, any game can look fantastic, regardless of how many polygons can fit on a screen

edit: I really hope this new development studio "gets it." That's why my expectations aren't really that high for the sequel. I really don't care about Big Sisters or Small Daddies or anything else that would fall into the trappings of a blockbuster sequel. I hope the new studio, writers, designers, developers, and artists, all read Anthem, or Fountainhead, or Atlas Shrugged 2 or 3 times each.

Anyway I read somewhere that BioShock 2 will be both a prequel and a sequel. Will try to find a source .

It's a sequel. All that prequel stuff was from a guy who did "concept art" for what he thought would be a cool idea for a Bioshock prequel. All the stuff released thus far points at sequel -- the dates, the weathering on the logo, etc.

Agreed! I just hope the environments are different if you're returning to rapture. I don't want a tacked-on MP, either.... I'm fine with just SP.

I would be too, not point sticking in a MP for the sake of it.

So if this is 7 years later, I would assume someone else has moved into rapture, as surely the big sisters aren't going to make themselves.

And its not like we would have seen all of rapture anyway, and if someone else has taken it over, I would assume they might have made new areas, and if someone new is there, is it still going to be full of crazy splicers? or has history repeated itself and whoever is new has also gone crazy too.

But that is if anyone new is there, if not, I am interested to find out how this has come about, as rapture was falling apart with no one taking care of it, unless its going Jurassic Park on us and there is another Rapture, lol.

I don't use this lightly, because I really love Bioshock, but it is one of the best FPS games I have ever played. I am so excited for Bioshock 2. The storytelling in Bioshock was so great and the gameplay was phenomenal. I know it's not exactly innovative but it is pretty high on the pedestal. Not many games live up to their hype. The game is so unlike all the average shooters out there. It's one of those games on par with the HL series in term of story, environment, and gameplay. Very unique and not run of the mill.

What do you guys see possible in Bioshock 2? The first one ended pretty solidly so who knows what will come with the next game. Significant gameplay improvements? Maybe, but I wouldn't care. I'm confident it will be a great experience. I really appreciate a game with good story and voice acting. When an original IP gets it right with the first game, more of the same ain't too bad. As much as I hate on GTA4, it did a great job there in terms of story, acting, and presentation. I have respect for developers that focus on that aspect.

    • Windows 11 is getting redesigned taskbar settings in new build by Taras Buria Microsoft is rolling out new Windows 11 preview builds in the Insider program, offering users new features and changes to try ahead of public release. In the Experimental channel (formerly Dev), Microsoft is shipping build 26300.8758, while in the Beta channel, users can download build 26220.8754. The changelogs do not contain much, but there is an important update to taskbar settings. Here is what is new in build 26220.8754: [Taskbar] Taskbar customization just got easier. As we continue to make improvements to the Taskbar experience mentioned last month, we've introduced a dedicated Taskbar Size setting, making it simpler to find, understand, and personalize your ideal taskbar experience. We've also made refinements to the transitions between taskbar sizes for a smoother overall experience. [File Explorer] We've improved the reliability of thumbnail previews for cloud files in the Details pane. The pane has also been reorganized so file properties are easier to find and review at a glance. Fixed an issue where the OneDrive shortcut in File Explorer stops working when File Explorer is run in administrative mode. Fixed an issue where the confirmation dialog might display an internal Recycle Bin file name instead of the original file name when permanently deleting a file. [Sounds] Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode. And here is what is new in build 26220.8754: [Smart card removal policy] Administrators can now configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 sessions that use Microsoft Entra ID (RDS AAD Auth) authentication to automatically disconnect when a redirected smart card is removed. This extends smart card removal policy enforcement to Microsoft Entra authenticated remote sessions, helping organizations meet security and compliance requirements. [File Explorer] Fixed an issue where the OneDrive shortcut in File Explorer stops working when File Explorer is run in administrator mode. [Taskbar] Improved reliability of loading the system tray area of the taskbar. [Sounds] Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode. You can find release notes for build 26300.8758 here and for build 26220.8754 here.
