Razer Destructor mouse mat

Recommended Posts

Well I've had my desk, the ocuk boogiebug, the razer goliathius and now have the razer destructor as I've not been too fond of the last 2 matts for a key reason, that they aren't very long life, spill something on them and they stain or crease up etc and the height is too high @ 4mm.

In comes the destructor then!

I read several reviews of it before buying this afternoon and went for it. played some L4D and have to say it is much better than them all. The mouse glides effortlessly without an ounce of friction which the others did have (Goliathius less so but still there) and it's not metal like the steel series so won't freeze your palm or play funny games with certain wireless mice.

In usual Razer fashion the packaging is way OTT, in fact I'm going to try and mod the case it comes in to hold documents and what not sooner or later :p

Thickness vs Goliathius (which is the same as boogiebug)

The underside is nonslip rubber the same as the other matts.

If I got a new cloth based matt for ?10 every year after wear and tear then the destructor will easily outlive 3 of those making the cost vs longevity margin well worth it:))

I have had one of these for a while and I found that it's wearing down kind of fast. I can tell that there are areas on it that are a lot smoother than the rest of the pad. Maybe it's supposed to be like that? I'm not certain but I've got less than 3 months of total use out of it, so that's a bit disconcerting.

Other than that I think it's great. My alternate mouse pad is an Icemat 2 and I like how slim the destructor is in comparison.

Yeah these types of pads are great if spill something. I use a freebie mousepad as a coaster actually cause it's easier to clean than my desk lol. Hopefully my goliathus lasts longer than it did for you, I haven't spilled anything on it yet luckily :p

I've got one of these lying about somewhere and love it.... but somehow I have become more pleased with a free mouse mat as part of threadless.com alumni.

Loving the MX1100 mouse too (Im a sucker for logitech including my mic, speakers, keyboard and both mice). I nearly got a 1100 but went for the Air instead so I could dump my clunky remote. Im now off to find my other mouse mat to put it with my laptop as that would be far better than working straight on a desk.... mind I use an old temperamental MX1000 which is probably the bigger issue.

Do they still warp? My brother had one of those cloth pads like that, and it has nothing but ripples in it now.

huh... what? how can a cloth mousepad warp when it doesnt hold its shape in the first place... and what do you mean by ripples

and i thougth the destructor wasnt a cloth pad

People still use mouse pads?

Never stopped using my Func 1030 Surface. Have had it for at least 3 years now and is in as good of condition as the day I purchased it.

How well do these surfaces compare to the SteelSeries surfaces? At my local computer store, they sell a lot of SteelSeries surfaces, so my exposure is pretty much limited to them.

At any rate, that is a beautiful looking case. I just love that logo.

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
