Would it be easy to translate it in another language?

In a word, yes. You can either do it yourself by editing the string resources in the executable (they are still in the same locations as the standard logonui). Alternatively send me a copy of the standard logonui.exe in your language and I'll set up a resource file to convert my logonui to your language.

can't believe you no one reported it.

Try to use Large Fonts or Extra Large Fonts.... it will look like crap. Gonna fix it asap.

Most likely because almost no one uses Large and Extra Large Fonts.

Yeah probably. Well I never used it before, but I switched from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200 a couple of days ago and the small letters started to annoy me.

So I tried Large Fonts and it sucked, the whole captionbar was screwed up. Anyways, I got it fixed now so I will release a new version this week.

why emulate, use the real thing

Ok please don't make such useless comments. Not everybody wishes to use Linux. I like Windows a lot and I will use it because of that. Though BlueCurve looks sooo sweet, so that's why I ported it. I'm not the only one who likes the look of Red Hat but don't want to use it.

I dont like compact start menu like that. Sorry

ThemeNorth did you translate your login with the logonui I provided to you?

I still keep the old ones.... so there is always a choice.

Ah cool... not a big fan of the compact start menus either to be honest, so having the choice is fine with me :)

Sheesh Schmoove.. it must be difficult to keep everyone happy! :)

ThemeNorth did you translate your login with the logonui I provided to you?

OK, added a French string table to the Logon UI. I can't actually test this (not having a french copy of windows installed).

Same link as before (Download - GetSkinned)

Let me know if it works...

How's this??

Looks better than the old start menu, more Linux like. I think it would look even better with the red bar on the right side removed, it just doesn't look right with it. Check the attached file, I made a mockup of what I mean. I was going to make a new start menu, but Stylebuilder gives me a headache. :D

    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.

    • Recycle Bin has been broken for literal YEARS now. The setting to delete files older than 30 days from the bin which is on by default doesn't even work. I have files older than 4 months in it and they are just there still...
