I took on myself to give it a try...Hope you don't mind Schmoove. Here is what it looks like, but it's also another msstyles file. Do I post it ?

(Schmoove, btw I did animated blue cursors that you can post on your site)

Right I'm kind of ****ed but i'll try to help before I pass oput. You need to edit the config file to your settigns. Right! Go into your Samurize folder and load up the config.exe thingy. The load up the script you want, main, small or text then click on the text or progress bar you want to alter.

God this is hard to explain at the best of time let alone after 9 pints. OK.

So you have the script loaded in the config.exe. the Downloaded and Uploaded thing is f**ked. Click on the text and slect your modem/networkcard. then it's fixed. Same for the hard Drive. If you don't have 3 harddrives, Delete the other and alter the rest.

As for the weather feature, well if you read the Read Me!.txt (Notice the ! it means read it!) it says you need to alter the weather script to your settings. ie your location. I included the readme file for you to read and understand.

The bottom line is that you will need to edit the script in samurize to work with you system config, there is no getting away from that , it's the way Samurize works. I'll be happy to alter any major problems or improve the script. It's just that ther is no getting away from the fact you will need to edit the script yourself in the end,

Now I need to sleep as I've got a group meeting tomorrow and I already feel a tad sick. Thank you for your interest inmy little script. errrr. .. I hope to chat to you kind people tomrrow. When i'm in a less intoxicated state.

NB: Jus post any problems your having and i'll tryand fix them later tomorrow. thanks.

Night,

heres my config.. retinal's configs had too many incompatibilities with my machine (my res. is 800*600, network, HD, etc..) so i decided to do my config from the ground up.. it took me a couple of hours, and after the frustrating moments of setting up the weather system, i decided not to include it, partially because of my very low resolution.. plus i wanted to add a few things of my own, but its mostly based on retinals config.. repeat: BASED, not COPIED.. anyways, thanks for the lovely pngs.. could you post the time one that you decided not to include? and if possible some more BlueCurve pngs.. thanks

well i can't get the weather script working. i did edit it (including the samurize directory - mine's a bit different) but it wasn't working so i was takin a closer look at it and it refers to two html files - "weather.daily.html" for the "dailyFile" and "weather.hourly.html" for the "hourlyFile" - that are supposed to reside in my script directory. they're not there. might this be causing the problem? seems like it would to me, but then again i don't know scripting that well...

Yes like I said, it is not possible to have different startbuttons in one msstyle. Like you did, you just altered the startbutton and made a new style out of it.

Please don't release the msstyle. You can post the BMP of the startbutton, I'm fine with that. People can edit it themselfs then if they find it nescessary. But don't post the msstyle.

About the cursors: nice, didn't notice that yet, will upload them a.s.a.p.

A winamp skin I started to work on tonight that matches this theme a little closer. Would anyone be interested if I finish it? (of course I would need Schmoove's permission first)

Look I can't forbid you to release it, but honestly I have to say that I think Vidar's winamp skin looks a lot better.

But if you want you can always release it.

    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
