Not sure what counter-strike version to update to

In the game's right hand bottom corner it shows v43/1.0.0.0 and in the readme file it shows 1.0.0.0 for the version also. So I dunno what version I upgrade to.. Just a little help is needed, thanks

most likely need to update half life as well as cs.

the latest version of counter-strike is 1.5 (or 1.6 beta). the latest version of half-life is 1.1.1 i think. which update you download depends on whether u have half-life or counter-strike retail.

Go to half lifes website and get the all versions update to 1.1.1, then get counter-strike 1.5. The steam 1.6 isn't out yet.... anyone know when it will be rereleased???? They pulled it like how long ago? i'd think it would be out already.
